Local dishes rotate daily, including Kobe's soul food bokkake (simmered beef tendon and konjac), akashiyaki (soft egg-batter octopus dumplings) from the city of Akashi, and Chinese rice porridge and boiled dumplings familiar from Nankinmachi. Buffet staples such as rolled omelet, curry, bread, salad and grilled fish are laid out as well. Some dishes are served in small bowls, and small bowls are provided as serving dishes too, so you can take just the amount you want, a little at a time.
