Livemax Resort Atami Ocean is a resort hotel where every room looks out over the Pacific and comes with a natural onsen open-air bath. The in-room open-air baths are fully enclosed private spaces, which makes bathing with a small child easy. Co-sleeping is limited to children who have not yet started elementary school, free of charge for up to one child per bed. The restaurant serves buffet meals, and soft drinks are free at both breakfast and dinner. In summer, guests can also use the infinity pool at the sister property Atami Sea Front.
Rooms
There are 10 room types, all with a natural onsen open-air bath and a private terrace, and every room has beds measuring 120 x 210 cm. The most compact types, the Japanese-Modern Japanese-Western Room and the Western-Modern Japanese-Western Room, are 35 sq m plus a 7 sq m private terrace and sleep up to 4 guests, while the Wabirei Junior Suite is 35 sq m plus a 9 sq m private terrace and sleeps up to 5. The Japanese-Modern Suite, Western-Modern Suite, Ocean Suite and Design Suite are around 50 sq m and sleep up to 5, and the Wabirei Suite sleeps up to 6; their terraces range from 10 to 14 sq m. The largest type, the Executive Ocean Suite, is 70 sq m plus a 14 sq m private terrace and sleeps up to 6. There is also a barrier-free Universal Room of 30 sq m plus a 7 sq m private terrace. Stays that go beyond a room's stated capacity are handled as co-sleeping, which applies from 3 guests or from 4 guests depending on the room type.
Dining
Meals are served buffet-style, built around a generous selection of seafood and other local ingredients. Breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (last order 9 a.m.), and dinner is from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. (last order 8:30 p.m.), with a first seating from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a second seating from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Soft drinks are free all day. Rooms have no kitchen, so cooking in the room is not possible.
Baths and Onsen
The top floor has an open-air bath with a view, an open-air reclining bath with a view, a carbonated spring bath, an indoor bath and a sauna. Staying guests pay a bathing tax of 150 yen, though children of elementary school age and under are exempt. The in-room open-air baths are filled with natural onsen flowing directly from the source into hinoki cypress or Shigaraki-ware ceramic tubs. Because each one is a fully enclosed private space, you can bathe with a small child without worrying about other guests.
Family-Friendly Features
Co-sleeping is available only for children who have not yet started elementary school. One child may co-sleep per bed, so up to 2 children in a room with 2 beds, and co-sleeping children stay free of charge. Note that amenity items and pillows are not provided for them. The accommodation tax of 200 yen per night does not apply to children under 12, including elementary school students. Accommodation plans include child rates. Barrier-free accommodations are provided, and guests using wheelchairs can also stay.

Access
About 7 minutes by car from Atami Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen. From Atami Station you can also take a bus and get off at the Shinsui Koen bus stop, a 1-minute walk away. Parking is available for 10 cars (standard passenger cars with a vehicle height of 1,550 mm or less only, 1,000 yen per night, advance reservation required); it is an automated multi-level parking garage, with entry from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
