Hotel New Akao

The indoor heated pool can be enjoyed year-round, with kickboards and arm floats available to borrow free of charge and swimsuits available to rent for a fee. In summer the hotel runs the Ocean Pool, where children ages 3 and over can play in the sea at Nishikigaura while wearing a life jacket. It also suits a first onsen and pool experience.

The certified rooms are tatami-floored Japanese-Western rooms and Japanese-style tatami rooms, where crawling babies can move around with peace of mind. A diaper trash bin, step stool, toilet-training seat, baby soap, baby bath, toys, picture books, a baby chair and children's nightwear are set up in the room, and a stroller, bed guard, baby bottle sterilizing case and similar items are available to borrow free of charge.

An onsen communal bath with an open-air bath high above the coast, looking out over the spectacular scenery of Nishikigaura. There is a baby bed and a diaper pail in the changing room and a bath chair and baby soap in the bathing area, so it works for a baby's first onsen too.

The buffet at the main dining room Nishiki has a kids' corner and baby food, and staff can also help warm baby food you bring yourself. Each restaurant serves children's menus and kids' meals for children from those who have not yet started elementary school through elementary school age. The hotel will do its utmost to accommodate food allergies and other dietary needs, so please speak with the staff.

The hotel has a nursing room, and the shop sells diapers and similar items. There is a wide range of items to borrow, including a bottle warmer, baby bottle-washing supplies and a nursing cushion, and staff who are mothers with childcare experience are on hand. In-house facilities for play include a shooting gallery, table tennis and a game corner.
