After a day meeting the animals at Rindoko Family Farm, a long drive back with a sleepy child and a stroller is the last thing anyone wants. Many families wonder just how close their hotel really needs to be.

To be upfront: none of the hotels we list are within walking distance of the farm. Near the farm you'll find Pension Yamanikki (a few minutes' drive away), Grand Mercure Nasu Highlands Resort & Spa, Hotel Epinard Nasu, Nasu Onsen Mongolia Village Tenger, and Pension Yama no Wagaya, while Hotel Harvest Nasu is also in the same Nasu Highlands area.

With a baby, Hotel Epinard Nasu offers baby rooms for ages 0 to 3, free crib rentals, and free baby food. Grand Mercure has a family floor on the 4th floor with rooms just for ages 0 to 3, plus NASOBIBA, an indoor play area on the 1st floor. If you'd like to soak in a hot spring as a family only, Pension Yamanikki has a private bath for each room, and Hotel Harvest Nasu offers a bookable private bath (3,300 yen per hour).

If you want free co-sleeping for children up to age 2 (a child sharing a parent's bed at no charge), Tenger offers it on eligible plans. Of the 16 hotels we list in the Nasu Highlands, 9 have private baths, 11 have Japanese-style or Japanese-Western rooms (tatami floors with futon bedding), and 4 have a kids' buffet (as of September 2026). Please check the farm's official website for hours, prices, and admission tickets, and confirm hotel amenities on the hotel's official website and booking sites for the latest information.

Keep Costs Down by Choosing Free Co-Sleeping

We don't list any business hotels here, so if you'd rather stay near Nasushiobara Station or on the Kuroiso side and drive in, you'll need to look for hotels around the station separately. On the Nasu Highlands side, one way to save is to choose a hotel with free co-sleeping.

Tips for traveling with kids

  • checkGetting between the farm and your hotel requires a car. Arranging a child seat in advance will make the day go much more smoothly
  • checkCribs and bed guards are limited in number. Hotel Harvest Nasu recommends reserving ahead, so request one when you book your stay for peace of mind
  • checkFree co-sleeping conditions differ by hotel and plan. At Tenger it applies only to eligible plans, so check the plan conditions before booking
  • checkAllergy accommodations need different lead times at each hotel. Epinard requires notice at least 1 week before your stay, and Hotel Harvest Nasu generally requires notice by 5:30 p.m. the day before
  • checkAfter a sweaty day at the farm, a hotel with a private bath lets your family soak without worrying about other guests. For bookable private baths, reserve your time slot when you book your stay to be sure
