The former elementary school gymnasium has a trampoline, a table tennis table, basketball and a kids' area, which you can use as you like from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Camp Play Room offers traditional games such as kendama (a Japanese cup-and-ball toy) and board games. Takatakiko Glamping Resort was created by renovating a former elementary school on the shore of Lake Takataki in Ichihara, Chiba. Guest rooms are split between dome tents, clear dome tents, bell tents and Kiha 203, a converted Kominato Railway car that once ran in service, and every tent comes with its own BBQ house with heating and air conditioning. The gymnasium and the Camp Play Room are free to use, and children's BBQ menus, kids' chairs and baby bath chairs are provided. Families with babies from age 0 can stay.
Rooms
There are 24 guest rooms, all of them tents on their own separate sites plus a converted railcar. The Dome Tent (with 2 double beds or 4 single beds), the Clear Dome Tent (4 single beds) and the Bell Tent (2 double beds) are all 28 square meters and sleep up to 4 guests. On Rakuten Travel the Dome Tent with 2 double beds is listed as a Twin and the version with 4 single beds as a Fours, and the interior is described as roomy enough that 3 or 4 guests do not feel cramped. Kiha 203, converted from a Kominato Railway car, is 27 square meters with 2 bunk beds and sleeps up to 4 guests; its hanging straps and driver's seat are still in place, and it has beds measuring 98 cm by 196 cm along with a kitchen sink, a microwave and an electric griddle. The beds are made by Simmons, with doubles 140 cm wide and singles 80 cm wide. Some dome tents come with a sauna, and there is only one pet-friendly dome tent with a private sauna. Guests with animal allergies are advised not to stay in the pet-friendly dome tents. No guest room offers an extra bed.
Dining
Dinner and breakfast are both eaten in the dedicated BBQ house with heating and air conditioning that adjoins each tent, so you never share a table with other guests. Kiha 203 uses the grill provided in the room, and for dinner you can choose between a BBQ and a Toshimaya Bento boxed meal from Chiba. Ingredients are collected from the food locker in the management building, handed over from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for dinner and from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. for breakfast. A separate children's menu is prepared: chicken steak, spiral sausages and baked cheese doria at dinner, and a hamburger, egg and soup at breakfast. For allergies, let the resort know which ingredients to leave out when you book, and the meal is prepared without them (switching to a different menu and reducing the price are not possible). Every plan includes free drinks, alcohol included, available from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. the next morning, when only soft drinks are served.

Insects are around in summer, so long trousers are recommended. Cribs and baby futons are not available to borrow and there are no extra beds, so bedding is limited to the number of beds in the room.
