Ooarai Seaside Hotel is a century-old inn on the Oarai coast overlooking the Pacific, built mainly around Japanese-style tatami rooms. Guests sleep on futons laid out on the tatami, in either an 8-tatami room on the sea side or a 10.5-tatami room on the mountain side. Dinner is served as in-room dining, with separate children's menus for elementary school children and for children under school age, so families can eat without worrying about other guests. The hotel has a panoramic-view bath filled with spring water from Oarai Isosaki Shrine; the water in the tubs is not onsen water. A free shuttle runs to Oarai Station, Aqua World and other nearby places.

A free shuttle serves Oarai Station and nearby places such as Aqua World, within the town of Oarai, with pickups from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and drop-offs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., a real help when you are traveling with children and plenty of luggage.
