Inside Oxia on the first basement floor of the main building is an indoor heated pool measuring 20 m by 7 m and 1.2 m deep. This swimsuit spa on the first basement floor of the Annex opens only during the summer school holidays, from August 1 to August 30. The outdoor area has an ancient Roman-style spa and a herbal rock bath, while the indoor area has a large jacuzzi, a mist sauna and a low-temperature sauna. Since guests wear swimsuits, it is an easy place for the whole family to bathe together.
Overview
Hotel Kyocera is a city resort hotel about 18 minutes by car from Kagoshima Airport, designed by Kisho Kurokawa and centered on a striking atrium. It has the natural onsen communal bath Oxia, fed by a spring source 1,050 m directly beneath the hotel, an indoor heated pool, and three restaurants serving Japanese cuisine, Western food and buffet meals. Co-sleeping is free for babies and toddlers, there is a nursing room in the main building's front lobby, and cribs are available in the rooms, so the hotel is set up for family stays.
Rooms
The main building and the Annex have 20 room types between them, for a total of 328 rooms. The Annex's Economy Twin rooms are 21.3 sq m, and some have a parent-and-child bed set (the parent bed 120 cm by 200 cm and the child bed 110 cm by 195 cm), which makes co-sleeping with a young child easier. Standard Twin rooms are 25.5 sq m with two beds, and Superior Twin rooms are 32.1 sq m, with a hide-a-bed added when three guests stay. The Japanese-style tatami rooms (44 sq m, a 6-tatami room plus an 8-tatami room) have no beds and use futon bedding for everyone, so the whole family can sleep side by side on the floor. Every room has a humidifying air purifier.

The hotel has three restaurants: the Japanese restaurant Kyo Haruka, the Western restaurant Del Sole and the buffet restaurant Yume no Kuni. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet, free for children who have not yet started elementary school and 2,500 yen before tax for elementary school students and older. The communal bath is on the first basement floor of the main building, and because there are stairs, guests who need assistance are asked to speak to a staff member. During the summer school holidays, the swimsuit spa Eden on the first basement floor of the Annex also opens for a limited period, with an outdoor ancient Roman-style spa as well as an indoor jacuzzi, sauna and more.

Access
The hotel is about 18 minutes by car from Kagoshima Airport, or about 18 minutes by airport bus, and about 50 minutes by car from central Kagoshima. It is about 5 minutes by taxi from Hayato Station. Parking for 300 cars is available at no charge, and it can get busy on weekends. Check-in is handled only at the front desk on the first floor of the main building; the Annex does not handle check-in. If you are staying in an Annex room, after checking in you move along a roughly 90-meter passageway to the main building, and you also need to make that trip to the main building when you use the communal bath.
