Overview
Ibusuki Onsen Ibusuki Kaijo Hotel is a seaside onsen hotel facing Kinko Bay in Ibusuki, Kagoshima. Every one of the 78 rooms has a bathroom and toilet: 60 ocean-side Japanese-style tatami rooms, 10 forest-side Japanese-style tatami rooms, 3 Western-style twin rooms and 5 special rooms. The Type B special room is a Japanese-style tatami room layout of two connecting rooms, one of 12.5 tatami mats and one of 6 tatami mats. It has no separate bedroom, and the spaces can be divided with sliding fusuma doors, which suits family trips with young children. The Type A special Japanese-Western room also has a marble view bath where you can have the spectacular scenery all to yourself.
Dining
For dinner, you can choose from kaiseki plans such as Kurobuta pork shabu and Satsuma flavors, or Japanese Black beef steak to savor. Breakfast is a Japanese, Western and Chinese buffet in a restaurant looking out over Kinko Bay; depending on the number of guests staying, it may instead be served as a Japanese set menu. For children, a kids' plate and a toddler udon plate are available.
Baths and Onsen
The panoramic communal bath and jacuzzi on the 5th floor have windows looking out over Kinko Bay, and the Ibusuki Onsen water flows directly from the source without recirculation. Access
The hotel is about 5 minutes by taxi from JR Ibusuki Station and about 90 minutes by airport bus from Kagoshima Airport. It is about 50 minutes by car from the Kagoshima Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, and there is free parking for 70 cars. A new swimming beach, the first in 20 years, has opened 5 minutes by car (15 minutes on foot) from the hotel.
