Karuizawa Log Hotel Shiozawa no Mori is made up of 17 log cottages, each rented as a whole building, set among the woods of Karuizawa. All meals are delivered to your cottage as room service, so there is no walk to a restaurant. Children's rates are set at 70% for elementary school children and 50% for preschool-age children (ages 3 and up who have not yet started elementary school). Children aged 2 and under are 2,200 yen in a Japanese-style tatami room or 550 yen in a Western-style room, which covers futon bedding and towels only. Cribs are available to rent for a fee and bed guards free of charge, and the cottages with a Japanese-style tatami living room allow co-sleeping with your child.

There are 17 cottages in 6 room types, all of them two-story maisonette log cottages rented as a whole building. The basic layout puts a living room, a mini kitchen, a bathroom and toilet, and a terrace on the first floor, with the bedroom on the second floor; the capacity and facilities vary by room type. The Special Suite (Type A) is recommended for couples and sleeps up to 3 guests, and the 62 sq m Sauna Forest Suite (Type AS, for 1 to 3 guests) has its own private sauna. The Semi-Japanesque Suite (Type AB) is recommended for families with young children and sleeps up to 5; its first floor is a Japanese-style tatami room, so children can co-sleep. The Japanesque Suite (Type B) sleeps up to 6 and has two living rooms, one Western-style and one Japanese-style, while the Executive Suite (Type C) sleeps up to 7, with two bedrooms on the second floor. Finally, the 135 sq m Deluxe Connecting Suite (Type D) sleeps 2 to 8 guests and has a jacuzzi and a loft above the Japanese-style tatami room. You can choose to suit the size and ages of your group.
