Okinawa Kariyushi Beach Resort Ocean Spa is a large resort hotel set on high ground in Onna, on an 80,000-tsubo site (tsubo being a traditional Japanese unit of area), made up of two buildings: the Ocean Tower and the Wing Tower. The 53 sq m Family Room has a bunk bed for children, and there is a free indoor playroom, the Wonder Room, plus a shallow, sloped Garden Pool outdoors. Co-sleeping is free for children from age 0 up to those who have not yet started elementary school, one of several ways the resort looks after families with young children.
Rooms
The resort has 482 rooms across two buildings, the Ocean Tower and the Wing Tower, including rooms designed for families. The Wing Tower's Family Room is a roomy 53 sq m, with one double bed and two larger single beds plus one bunk bed for children weighing 40 kg or less. Besides the bathroom, it has two shower rooms, so the family can share them during the morning rush. The themed room Yanbaru no Mori ("Yanbaru Forest") has one loft bed that is popular with children, and Yanbaru no Umi ("Yanbaru Sea") has two shower rooms. The Ocean Tower's Moderate Twin is 30 sq m with two beds measuring 120 cm wide by 200 cm long, and sleeps up to 3 guests when the 90 cm-wide sofa bed is used. If you want 3 or 4 guests in one room, the Wing Tower has about 134 rooms and the Ocean Tower about 70 rooms with standard beds, though Ocean Tower rooms cannot be used by 4 guests.

Breakfast is served at THE DINING Danryu Mansai on the first floor of the Wing Tower, a buffet with 107 kinds of Japanese, Western and Okinawan dishes. Make-your-own taco rice, Okinawa soba (Okinawan noodle soup) and Blue Seal ice cream are all you can eat, and hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with last entry at 9:30 a.m. Families with children are welcome at the restaurants, where plastic children's tableware and children's chairs are provided. Each restaurant sells commercially prepared baby food for 5, 7, 9 and 12 months at breakfast, lunch and dinner, starting at 300 yen. Food allergies are accommodated as far as possible: the buffet counters at Danryu Mansai and BBQ Garden CHI carry allergy labels, and a low-allergen set menu for children can be reserved in advance. You can also stay in your wheelchair or keep your child in the stroller while dining. None of the restaurants have private rooms; the only option is a semi-private room seating up to 6 at the yakiniku (Japanese-style grilled meat) restaurant Yakiniku Asa, available by reservation only. There are plans under which children who have not yet started elementary school eat breakfast free of charge when accompanied by an adult, and children aged 3 and under eat dinner free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Baths
There are two communal baths, Mori-no-yu on the first basement floor of the Wing Tower and Umi-no-yu on the first basement floor of the Ocean Tower. They are equipped with open-air baths and saunas, and both charge a fee. Mori-no-yu will be closed for renovation from October 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 (scheduled), and during that period Umi-no-yu will operate with extended hours. A single visit costs 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children of elementary school age. A day pass costs 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children of elementary school age, and allows unlimited visits until 9 a.m. the next morning. Guests are asked to refrain from mixed bathing with children aged 6 and over. Children of elementary school age and younger cannot use the baths on their own and must always be accompanied by a guardian. Children who are not yet out of diapers (not yet toilet-trained) cannot get into the tubs, so families are asked to use the baby bath provided.
