Irago Ocean Resort stands on high ground 100 m above sea level at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula, and every room has an ocean view. Its highlights are the infinity open-air bath of Irago Onsen and a buffet of about 80 Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, where the kids' corner is stocked with food children love. For families with young children, there are rooms certified as Welcome Baby stays by the Mikihouse Child-Rearing Research Institute, cribs and baby baths available to borrow, an indoor kids' park that children can use from age 0, and an outdoor pool that opens in summer only.
Rooms
All 154 rooms have an ocean view. The Superior Japanese-Western Room and Deluxe Japanese-Western Room A are certified as Welcome Baby stays by the Mikihouse Child-Rearing Research Institute. There is no step between the tatami area and the bed space, so babies can lie down and crawl around with peace of mind. The Panorama Premier Family Room sleeps up to 6 guests. It has one 110 cm bed and one 140 cm bed, plus a bunk bed with a 100 cm upper level and a 180 cm lower level. There are also Japanese-Western rooms for 3 to 6 guests and Japanese-style tatami rooms with futon bedding, so you can choose a room to fit the size of your family.

Dinner is served at Irago Bold Kitchen, a buffet restaurant with about 80 Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes. The kids' corner has treats children love, such as chocolate fondue and make-your-own soft serve, and baby food for ages 5 to 12 months is also available (served inside the restaurant only). Tridente, a restaurant serving course meals, also offers a children's course meal and a children's plate. The breakfast buffet costs 2,500 yen for elementary school children and 1,800 yen for children from age 3 until they start elementary school, and it is free for children aged 2 and under. Baby food can be warmed in a microwave; please ask at the front desk. If you book a course meal, the hotel will ask whether anyone has a food allergy. If so, please let the hotel know at least 3 days before the day of your meal.
Baths and Onsen
Irago Onsen is known for its infinity open-air bath, 100 m above sea level. For families with small children, the private bath Sazanami, with a spacious changing area and washing area, is a good choice (there is a fee, and it is not an onsen). Children who are not yet out of diapers (not yet toilet-trained) cannot get into the tubs in the communal bath, but a free baby bath is available on request. Under Aichi Prefecture regulations, mixed bathing with children aged 8 and over is not permitted.
Family-Friendly Features
Cribs are available to borrow, but numbers are limited, so please inquire in advance; children who can pull themselves up to stand cannot use them. Baby baths and baby soap can be borrowed free of charge. Children's yukata come in three sizes: S (95-110 cm), M (110-125 cm) and L (125-140 cm). Co-sleeping for ages 0 to 2 costs only the facility fee of 2,200 yen, and adding a futon costs extra. Children who have not yet started elementary school (ages 3 to 6) pay 50% of the adult rate, and elementary school children pay 70%. Inside the hotel, the indoor Irago Kids Park is open to children aged 0 to 8 and their guardians, with a 30 sq m ball pit and a bouldering wall for play in any weather (500 yen per person for adults and children alike). In summer, an outdoor pool for staying guests only also opens. Its children's pool with a slide is 45 cm deep, a good place for a first taste of water play. It is open from 1 p.m. on July 1, 2026 to 12 p.m. on September 28, 2026, and can be used for stays through the night of September 27.
Access
The hotel is about 70 minutes by free shuttle bus from JR or Meitetsu Toyohashi Station (reservation-only, by 4 p.m. the day before). By car, it is about 90 minutes from Toyokawa IC or Hamamatsu-nishi IC on the Tomei Expressway. By Ise Bay Ferry, the crossing from Toba Port to Irago Port takes about 60 minutes. Free parking for about 200 cars is provided across Parking Lots 1 to 3. If you would like a late checkout, 2,200 yen is added per hour.
