forumWhat families say

Rakuten Travel rating 4.3 out of 5 (1,825 reviews). Many guests say the Japanese-style tatami rooms, where you take off your shoes, were a real help with small children. Breakfast is a make-your-own sandwich, and reviews say children enjoyed it. In one case, a child with a wheat allergy was able to switch to rice buns. Guests also rate highly the free co-sleeping through elementary school and the next-day passport benefit. On the other hand, the tatami area in the Japanese-style rooms sits on a raised platform with a high step, and one family with a 1-year-old laid futons on the floor below it.

Each guest gets one set, and you build your own sandwich from your choice of bread and fillings. You can take it with you and eat wherever you like, in the restaurant, in your room or elsewhere. Co-sleeping children can also have breakfast free of charge. Baby food for babies aged 5 to 12 months is always on hand, with several kinds to choose from: cod, pumpkin and corn from about 5 months; whitebait rice porridge from about 7 months; sea bream rice with a thickened vegetable sauce from about 9 months; and udon simmered with chicken and vegetables from about 12 months. There is no communal bath, private-hire bath or sauna, and no onsen. Guest-room bathrooms have the bath and toilet separate, with a washing area, though some rooms have an en-suite bathroom where the bath and toilet share one unit.
