Atami Onsen Aji to Yu no Yado New Tomiyoshi is an onsen ryokan about a 10-minute drive south of central Atami, standing in front of Nagahama Beach and known for its boat-shaped sashimi platter of Ise spiny lobster. Its 11 open-air baths, fed by water flowing directly from the source, and 3 saunas can be used privately free of charge, 24 hours a day from check-in to checkout, with no reservation needed. There is no gender-separated communal bath, so families can bathe together without worrying about other guests. Baby items such as a diaper bin and a baby bath are available to borrow, and there are kids' meals for elementary school children and for children under school age, making it an easy place to stay with young children.
Rooms
The suite rooms in the new building, which opened in 2024, all have ocean views and a private open-air bath on a spacious balcony. The Premium Suite is the only room of its kind, on the top floor of the new building: 135 sq m with a twin room, a Japanese-style tatami room and a balcony, for 2 to 6 guests. There is one Deluxe Suite on each of floors 5 through 7 of the new building, with a 10-tatami and a 20-tatami Japanese-style room and 3 beds, for 6 guests. The main building has a 46 sq m Japanese-style room made up of connecting 10-tatami and 6-tatami rooms, for 2 to 7 guests and with 2 washbasin areas, as well as a 30 sq m, 10-tatami Japanese-style room combining 2 low beds with one futon set, for 2 to 4 guests. A Universal Room designed for easy wheelchair use is also available in the main building, at 66 sq m for up to 6 guests, and the ryokan describes the Superior rooms as a popular room type for families with young children. Every room type has a child rate.
Dining
Dinner centers on a boat-shaped platter (funamori) piled with fresh sashimi, including Ise spiny lobster. This coastal seafood spread comes with an appetizer, a simmered dish, a vinegared dish, grilled fish, simmered fish, a deep-fried dish, soup and pickles. Elementary school children are served almost the same menu as adults, but in place of the grilled fish and simmered fish they receive a kids' plate of deep-fried items such as fried shrimp, for about 8 dishes in all, and the boat platter is prepared in a quantity that includes their portions. Children under school age are served a one-plate kids' meal of deep-fried items such as fried shrimp and French fries, along with a children's dessert. Breakfast is an individually served Japanese set meal; elementary school children receive one or two dishes fewer than the adult menu, and children under school age are served a one-plate breakfast. Meals for older guests and meals accommodating allergies can also be arranged.

Beyond the open-air baths attached to guest rooms, there are 11 open-air baths fed by water flowing directly from the source and 3 saunas, all available for private use free of charge, 24 hours a day from check-in to checkout and with no reservation needed. There is no gender-separated communal bath, so families bathe together in the private-hire baths without worrying about other guests. The in-room open-air baths use a continuous overflow system: just turn the tap and you can enjoy fresh, first-use water at any time.

The swimming beach is right in front of the ryokan, and from your check-in day through your checkout day you can use the 4 private warm-water shower rooms free of charge. There is also a high-speed spin dryer for wet swimsuits, so changing and rinsing off before and after a swim is easy even with young children. The entire property is non-smoking, with smoking limited to the smoking room near the main building lobby, so guest rooms and the restaurant stay free of smoke. Children under 12 are exempt from the Atami City accommodation tax introduced in April 2025.
Access
The ryokan is about a 10-minute drive south of central Atami, in the quiet, unhurried area of South Atami, on National Route 135. There are 4 free parking areas on the grounds, with space for 40 cars. By train, it is a 10-minute walk from Izutaga Station on the JR Ito Line. Alternatively, take a public bus from platform 6 of the bus terminal at JR Atami Station for about 20 minutes and get off at the Kaisuiyokujo (beach) bus stop, right by the ryokan. Nagahama Seaside Park, a 5-minute walk away, has a 400 m sandy beach, a lawn park and large play equipment.
