Rooms
Whole-lodge rentals stand in a row along the Natori River, 13 rooms in total. Size and capacity vary by room type: types G1 to G3 and type E are 12 tatami mats for up to 6 guests; types D1 to D4 are 15 tatami mats for up to 8 guests; type C is 24 tatami mats for up to 12 guests; types F1 and F2 have 12 tatami mats on the first floor and 10 on the second for up to 12 guests; and type Z1, the largest at Kinoie and also with a second floor, has 12- and 24-tatami-mat spaces on the first floor plus 12 tatami mats on the second, sleeping up to 24 guests. Types D1/D2 and D3/D4 each have one bunk bed. The lodges have no bath or toilet inside, so guests use the shared toilets and the communal bath. Only the Atelier Sanso has a television, and there is no microwave in the lodges either - one is provided at the reception desk, available until 7 p.m.
Dining
Meals are not included; instead you can order the barbecue option. Barbecue ingredients must be ordered for 2 or more servings, at least 3 days before your stay. The photos also show Sendai-style imoni and Yamagata-style imoni (a hearty taro and meat hot pot), as well as a kids' barbecue set.
Baths
The communal bath (natural hot spring) is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., though depending on the number of guests staying it may close at 9 p.m. The following morning, showers only are available from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Since the lodges have no bath or toilet inside, bathing means using this communal bath. Only the Atelier Sanso has an in-room natural hot-spring bath with water flowing straight from the source, a completely private space where your family can bathe on its own.
Family-Friendly Features
Elementary school children and older are charged the adult rate, and up to 10 children under school age stay free, which keeps costs down for families with babies and toddlers. Every room type is a whole-lodge rental limited to one group per day, so your family has the place to itself without worrying about other guests. There is a change in elevation between the parking area and the lodge village, and you need to walk up and down a slope, but a hand cart for carrying luggage is available to borrow free of charge. Because of the natural setting, insects sometimes get into the rooms.

The lodges are 30 minutes by car from Sendai Station, or 33 minutes by bus on the Kawasaki Sendai Seibu Liner. Parking for 100 cars is free, on a first-come, first-served basis. From 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the entrance shutter closes automatically for security and you cannot drive in or out of the parking area, so take care with your arrival time and any plans to go out at night.
