Travel tips
There is one ticket gate, and it connects to the Zest Oike underground arcade. When you transfer to a bus, the stops A through E are divided by destination, so check the stop for your route first and getting around will be easier. City buses get crowded during the cherry blossom and fall foliage seasons, so building your day around the subway makes travel easier.
Best season
Kyoto is especially beautiful in spring (late March to April) when the cherry blossoms bloom, and in fall (November) when the leaves change color, and these are also the most crowded times. For a more relaxed trip with kids, weekdays in early summer or in October before the fall colors begin are relatively easy times to get around. Summers are hot and humid and winters are bitterly cold, so dress for the season and be prepared with water or warm layers.
Getting there
On the Tozai Line, the neighboring stations are Sanjo Keihan Station (T11) and Karasuma Oike Station (T13). You can transfer to the Karasuma Line at Karasuma Oike Station.
