About Dogo Onsen Station
Dogo Onsen Station is a stop on the Iyotetsu city tram (a streetcar line run by Iyo Railway) and the closest station to Dogo Onsen. It takes about 20 minutes by city tram from Matsuyamashi Station, and it is also the terminus of the Botchan Train, a vintage-style sightseeing train. The station building is a reconstruction of the original 1911 station, with the Western-style exterior of the Meiji era, and it is lit up at night. In front of the station you will find Hojoen (a small park), a tourist information center, and the entrance to the Dogo shopping arcade. The arcade runs in an L-shape from in front of Dogo Onsen Honkan (the historic main bathhouse) to the station, lined with souvenir shops and restaurants.
