The Western-style Maisonette (from 75 sq m, for 4 guests) is a two-story room with 4 beds, and the Western-style Double Maisonette (42 sq m, for 2 guests) is a two-story room with one double bed. The Japanese-Western Maisonette (from 78 sq m, for 6 guests) combines a 10- to 12-tatami Japanese-style room with a twin bedroom and accommodates up to 6 guests. It is the hotel's largest room type and is well suited to groups and families. There is no elevator in the building, and the maisonette rooms have a staircase inside the room.
Dining
Dinner is a course menu of highland vegetables and meat dishes, with a choice of three levels: Premium, Standard and Light. The Premium course includes an assortment of domestic beef rib loin and grilled pork. A dedicated children's menu is served at the regular dinner. Dinner is served from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. If anyone in your party has a food allergy, let the hotel know when you book. On the summer-only BBQ plan, children are served the same menu as adults and therefore pay the same rate as adults.
Onsen
The onsen communal bath draws on Hataya Onsen, an alkaline simple onsen that is colorless, clear, tasteless and odorless. Large windows look out over the Ressha-mura (Train Village) plaza and the surrounding forest, and the bath is popular with children as well. It is open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. The bathing tax is 150 yen per person and applies to guests aged 12 and over.
Family-friendly features
On plans that include two meals, children of elementary school age pay 70% of the adult rate and children under school age pay 50%, while infants ages 0 to 2 stay free of charge when co-sleeping, without meals or futon bedding. This is a dog-friendly hotel, and dogs must be kept on a leash in all shared areas other than the guest rooms and the dog run. If you are not bringing a dog, the restaurant can seat you in a separate area if you request it when booking, though this may not be possible depending on how bookings fall.
Access
The hotel is about 29 km by car from the Usui-Karuizawa Interchange on the Joshin-etsu Expressway and about 21 km by car from Karuizawa Station. By train, take the public bus from the north exit of Karuizawa Station for about 35 minutes; the fare is 1,090 yen one way. Parking is available for about 30 cars, free of charge and with no reservation required. A free shuttle service was previously offered, but it was discontinued in April 2025.
