Rooms
There is a wide range of room types, from Western-style rooms to Japanese-style tatami rooms. The Standard Twin is 36 sq m for 1-2 guests, with two beds 103 cm wide, and the Superior Twin is 41 sq m for 1-3 guests, with two beds 123 cm wide (an extra bed is provided for a third guest). The 12-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami room is laid out with families in mind and sleeps 1-5 guests, while the Double is 34 sq m for 1-2 guests, with a queen-size bed 160 cm wide. The top-floor Deluxe Twin is 58 sq m for 1-4 guests, with two beds 140 cm wide. The Corner Suite, with a living room, a bedroom and a Japanese-style tatami room, is 102 sq m for 1-5 guests. All rooms are non-smoking, and every room has a separate bath and toilet.
Dining
Dinner and breakfast are served at the buffet restaurant Hibara Dining. Dinner brings more than 50 Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, an all-you-can-eat spread generous enough to satisfy children as well as adults. The restaurant also has a kids' corner, where food popular with children, sweets and dagashi (traditional Japanese penny candy) are set out on tables low enough for children to reach, and children's chairs are provided. The buffet menu labels egg, wheat, milk, buckwheat, peanut, shrimp, crab and walnut as allergens, but please note that the same kitchen and dishwashers are used, so allergens are not completely eliminated. The Japanese restaurant Waraku is closed for the time being, and meals are generally served in the restaurant, so in-room dining is not available.
Baths and Onsen
The open-air bath Hibarami no Yu flows straight from the source, and its view across Lake Hibara is a favorite. The water is a neutral onsen with a pH of 6.2, gentle on the skin and considered well suited to a baby's first onsen. The communal bath Aurora no Yu is open from 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. the next morning, and its small tub holds onsen water flowing straight from the source. The private-hire baths (2 of them, open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) also use onsen water, which is heated, and are an option when you want to bathe with your children without worrying about other guests. Note that the baths in the guest rooms are not onsen.
Family-Friendly Features
Children from age 0 up to those who have not yet started elementary school can stay by co-sleeping, and co-sleeping is free for children aged 3 and under (no amenities included). Up to 2 children may co-sleep. For co-sleeping children aged 4 and over who are still under school age, adding meals costs an extra 2,100 yen for dinner and 900 yen for breakfast. Depending on the plan, elementary school children pay 70% of the adult rate, while rates for babies and toddlers vary with whether meals and bedding are included; with neither meals nor bedding, there is no charge. Cribs are available to rent for a fee, and children's yukata (large, medium and small), toothbrushes and slippers are provided. Hot water for baby formula can be prepared if you ask at the front desk. In summer (July 18 to August 31), children up to elementary school age staying at the hotel receive fireworks as a free gift. The play spot on the 3rd floor, on the other hand, is presented as an amusement zone where adults can have fun. Getting around the building by wheelchair is possible, but there are no fully barrier-free rooms, and assistance inside the room may be needed.

The hotel is in a prime spot, a 3-minute walk from the famous sightseeing spot Goshiki-numa. By car it is about 25 minutes from Inawashiro-Bandai-Kogen IC on the Ban-etsu Expressway. By train, you can take the free shuttle bus from JR Inawashiro Station to the hotel (no reservation needed, though groups of 10 or more must reserve). Parking is free for staying guests, with 350 spaces. Guests with food allergies are asked to contact the hotel at least 3 days before their stay, and the hotel will suggest alternative meals.
