An All-Inclusive Onsen Resort with a Spectacular View of the Five Peaks of Aso

TAOYA Aso is an onsen resort hotel in the Ooedo Onsen Monogatari group that had its grand opening in Minami-Aso, Kumamoto, on July 1, 2026. The all-inclusive style that defines the TAOYA series is the draw here: almost every charge inside the hotel is covered, from alcoholic drinks at dinner to lounge drinks, afternoon tea and a late-night snack. The open, fully glazed lounge looks out over the nature of Aso, and it is an easy place for a family to slow down.

A Communal Bath That Welcomes Families with Babies

The communal bath, looking out at the five peaks of Aso, is a beauty-enhancing bath fed by a sodium bicarbonate spring (hypotonic, weakly alkaline, high-temperature). The water has a slightly silky feel on the skin and is a type of spring water known for its moisturizing quality. The bathing area has a baby bed, a baby bath, a baby chair, a children's chair and a diaper bin, and the women's bath also has baby soap, so the facilities make it easy to enjoy the onsen with a baby. Bathing hours are 3 p.m. to midnight and 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Children aged 7 and over, or 120 cm and taller, use the bath for their own gender. The open-air bath, where the highland breeze passes through, is scheduled to open on October 1, 2026, while the indoor baths have been available since the hotel opened.

Lavish Buffet Dining

Both dinner and breakfast are lavish buffets. Alongside the standard plan, there are gourmet plans that add all-you-can-eat snow crab and horaku-mushi (a steamed dish). Drinks and a late-night snack come with the all-inclusive stay, so everyone in the family can eat at their own pace.

Rooms and Facilities

The guest rooms, with the nature of Aso spreading out beyond the windows, are refined spaces built around a monotone palette. There is also a bathing facility with a sauna and a cold-water bath, giving the adults time to refresh. Children of all ages are accepted, and bookings can be made under the categories for children under school age (with futon bedding and meals) and for children under 3.

Access and Parking

About 7 minutes by car from Minami-Aso Mizu no Umareru Sato Hakusui Kogen Station on the Minami-Aso Railway, about 30 minutes by car from Aso Kumamoto Airport, and about 50 minutes from the Kumamoto IC on the Kyushu Expressway. Parking for about 50 cars is available free of charge, with no reservation required. Check-in is at 3 p.m. (last check-in 7 p.m.), and checkout is at 11 a.m.
