Overview
HOTEL HOUSEN is a business hotel a 3-minute walk from the East Exit of Soka Station. Alongside Housen no Yu, the men's-only communal bath, there is a private-hire jacuzzi bath for women, families and couples, free of charge by reservation. Twin rooms allow one child to co-sleep free of charge, and every room has a small cooktop, with pots and tableware available to borrow, so families can do a little cooking of their own. Tokyo Skytree is 19 minutes away on the Tobu Railway.
Rooms
There are four room types: single rooms (16.5 sq m), twin rooms (19 sq m), semi-double rooms and double rooms. Each twin room has one Phiten semi-double Aqua Titan bed, and up to one child can co-sleep free of charge. The semi-double rooms are for two guests and use memory-foam Phiten Aqua Titan mattresses, while the double rooms have the most generous amenities and the most space in the hotel. All rooms have a bath, toilet, shower, air conditioning and heating, a television and an empty refrigerator, and wired internet and Wi-Fi are free. Every room has a small cooktop, and pots and tableware can be borrowed at the front desk (they are not lent out to guests on the one-week or one-month plans). Air purifiers with a humidifying function, desk lamps and other items are also available to borrow, in limited numbers. Checkout is at 10 a.m., and it can be extended by up to 2 hours for 1,100 to 1,540 yen per hour, depending on the room type.
Dining
Breakfast and dinner are served at Ishokuya Housen. Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9 a.m.; the Japanese set meal is 900 yen, with free refills of rice and miso soup. The self-service corner has daily-changing small side dishes, umeboshi (pickled plums), yogurt and more, all of which guests can help themselves to. Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m., with last orders at 9:30 p.m.; grilled fish set meals start at 700 yen, and the three-kind sashimi set meal is the most popular. Dinner is not served on Sundays or on the second and fourth Mondays. The takeout corner offers bento boxes such as fried chicken bento and ginger pork bento from 500 yen, so you can eat in your room as well.

Housen no Yu, the men's-only communal bath, is on the second floor and is open from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. It is a calcium carbonate onsen that uses Futamata radium onsen mineral stone in its circulating filtration unit, but it is not an onsen that wells up from underground. Guests bring a towel from their own room. Separately from the men's-only communal bath, women, families and couples can use a private-hire jacuzzi bath free of charge. It is booked in one-hour slots between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., with about 40 minutes of that as actual bathing time.
