Overview
Smile Hotel Kumagaya is a business hotel on National Route 17, a 5-minute walk from the north exit of Kumagaya Station. Rooms come in three types - single, double and twin - and all have Serta mattresses. One child who has not yet started elementary school can co-sleep free of charge per bed, while children of elementary school age and above pay the same rate as adults. There is no communal bath or onsen; each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet at 1,100 yen per person, and the location close to the station is convenient for family trips by train.
Rooms
Rooms come in three types - single, double and twin - and all of them have Serta mattresses, introduced in November 2022. The single room is 14 sq m with one double-size bed measuring 140 cm wide by 200 cm long, and the double room is also 14 sq m with a double bed of the same size. The twin room is 15.2 sq m with two beds 110 cm wide. Double rooms also have plans that allow 1 to 3 guests to share one bed. Rooms are equipped with a television and refrigerator, as well as a humidifier and air purifier.
Dining
Breakfast is served as a Japanese and Western buffet in the breakfast venue on the first floor, from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. with last entry at 8:45 a.m., for 1,100 yen per person. The buffet always offers more than 20 dishes, and guests who book a room-only plan can add breakfast later. Room service is not available.
Bath
Each guest room has a combined bath-and-toilet unit with a shower and bathtub, so the bathing area, washbasin and toilet are not separated. There is no communal bath, private-hire bath or onsen, so bathing takes place in the bathtub in your room.
Family-Friendly Features
One child who has not yet started elementary school can co-sleep free of charge per bed, while children of elementary school age and above pay the same rate as adults. If a child under school age will use a bed of their own, the booking must be made at the rate for elementary school age and above. There is no indoor or outdoor pool, and no barrier-free facilities or childcare service are available.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the north exit of Kumagaya Station on the JR and Chichibu Railway lines, on National Route 17. The hotel's own outdoor parking has 23 spaces at 700 yen per night on a first-come, first-served basis; when it is full, guests are directed to the nearby affiliated Oak Kitaguchi lot, with 104 spaces at 700 yen per 24 hours. There is no bicycle parking space.
