The 5 dome-tent types that do not allow pets are 7 m in diameter and come with Simmons beds, air conditioning, an air purifier and a humidifier, along with a private wooden deck of about 86.1 sq m built from Japanese cypress. Three of those types are 38.4 sq m and sleep 5: Nakisuna has 2 semi-double beds and 2 single beds, Setouchi has 5 single beds, and King Bed Suite Ariake has 1 king bed, 1 semi-double bed and 1 single bed. On Rakuten Travel, Nakisuna is classified as a Fours (a 4-person quad room), while the Kid's Suite and the Theater Suite are classified as triples. The Kid's Suite, designed for families with children, sleeps 4 with 2 semi-double beds, 1 single bed and 1 sofa (sofa bed), and is set up with play equipment such as a mini trampoline, a mini ball pit and climbing play structures. The Theater Suite has a large projector, along with a popcorn maker. The 4 pet-friendly dome-tent types each sleep 4, measure 28.2 sq m and come with a private dog run of more than 200 sq m. Meals are served on the deck attached to the building you are staying in, so with a BBQ plan both dome-tent and villa guests eat on their own private deck. Every deck is roofed, which means you can still eat outside in the rain, and for up to two rooms the meal can be set up together on one of the decks. Children's meal charges are separate from the room-only rate: elementary school children pay 2,000 yen for dinner and 1,500 yen for breakfast, and children under school age (ages 2 to under 6) pay 1,000 yen for dinner and 1,000 yen for breakfast. At dinner, elementary school children are served a kids' BBQ and children under school age a BBQ for their age group; at breakfast, elementary school children have the same food as adults, while children under school age have it without the Rodev bread. If anyone has a food allergy, you are asked to let the property know in advance. Lunch is not served, but there is a restaurant, Kasatei, inside the adjacent hot spring facility Kotohiki Kairo.
Baths and Onsen
The villas have a bath with a jacuzzi and a toilet. None of the dome tents have a bath or toilet, so bathing a baby or a young child means using the shared shower rooms in the clubhouse or the onsen. Staying guests can enter the adjacent natural hot spring Kotohiki Kairo free of charge, where there are 6 kinds of baths, including an open-air bath, indoor baths and a shiofuro seawater bath. The spring water is a sodium-calcium chloride spring. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every bath is open, including the open-air bath, and the morning bath from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. is for staying guests only and covers the indoor baths. Whether children who are not yet out of diapers may get into the bathtubs is not stated, so please confirm with the property. Bathing with visible tattoos is not allowed, but you may bathe if you cover them with tattoo cover stickers.
Family-Friendly Features
No sofa bed or extra bed is provided for children under school age, so they co-sleep in the same bed as a parent. Children under school age are not counted in the number of guests, while children of elementary school age and over count as one guest each. Babies can stay as well. Under the relevant laws, staying over the capacity is not possible, and futon bedding cannot be added. About 5 minutes by car or taxi from JR Kanonji Station, about 14 minutes by car from Sanuki-Toyonaka IC and about 12 minutes by car from Onohara IC, with free parking for 120 cars that needs no reservation. Check-in times differ by building: from 2 p.m. for the 4 villas, from 2:30 p.m. for King Bed Suite Ariake, Large Dog Suite Ariake and Tasogare, and from 3 p.m. for Setouchi, Setouchi Dog Suite and Nakisuna, in every case until 5 p.m. Checkout is at 11 a.m. for all types. From the beach, 30 seconds away on foot, you can also look up at the sky through binoculars. Pages in English, Chinese and Korean are available too.
