About Nagasaki Port
Nagasaki Port is a harbor in the city of Nagasaki. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it looks like a crane spreading its wings when seen from above, which is why it is also called the "Crane Harbor." Scheduled passenger boats to the Goto Islands, Iojima, and Takashima depart from and arrive at the Ohato Terminal Building, with ferries and jetfoils run by Kyushu Shosen and high-speed boats run by companies such as Nagasaki Kisen. International cruise ships dock at the Matsugae International Terminal. The whole area is registered as a "Minato Oasis NAGASAKI" (a port-side community hub designated by the government), and it also includes Dejima Wharf and Nagasaki Mizube-no-Mori Park.

Travel tips
Scheduled boats to the outlying islands depart from the Ohato Terminal Building, so the boarding area is different from Matsugae, where cruise ships dock. Before or after your departure, you can spend time watching the port from a cafe or restaurant at Dejima Wharf. Nagasaki Mizube-no-Mori Park, along the canal, is a good resting spot when you want to let your children walk.
