Rooms

There are 44 rooms in all, and some look out over the Kikuchi River. The 10-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms have a broad window-side space and sleep up to 4 guests. The 18-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms (4 rooms) come with an adjoining room, so they can be divided into two rooms of 10 and 8 tatami mats; they sleep up to 8 guests and have 2 vanity units. The 18-tatami-mat rooms are listed as having no bath or toilet, so please confirm when booking. The Family Room is an 18-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami room with an adjoining room; there is only one, and it sleeps up to 7 guests. The Japanese-Western rooms on the top floor combine an 8-tatami-mat Japanese-style area with twin beds and sleep up to 5 guests, with futon bedding provided from the third guest onward. The in-room open-air baths are not onsen. Guests lay out their own futon bedding.

Dining

Breakfast and dinner are both served in the dining area, and in-room dining is not available. Groups of 10 can dine in a private room, with a private-room fee of 1,100 yen per person for junior high school students and older, while children of elementary school age and under are free of charge. Children booked on a plan with two meals get a dedicated dinner: elementary school children (ages 6 to 11) have the Okosama Kaiseki, a children's version of the Yachiyo Kago Gozen set meal, and preschool-age children (ages 3 to 5) have Hamburg steak, fried shrimp, omurice (an omelet over rice), udon and dessert. At breakfast, only preschool-age children get a children's Japanese breakfast. Menus may change depending on what ingredients are available. For food allergies, the operating company states that since September 2025, new requests for allergen removal or substitute menus have been suspended for the time being, and if a reaction could occur, the ryokan may decline to serve meals, putting safety first. Guests with a history of anaphylaxis or who use an EpiPen, among others, will not be served food or drink on the premises. Allergen-free food and tableware can be brought in if you let the ryokan know in advance, so please confirm before booking. You can bring food and drink into your room, but not into the dining area. Dinner starts at either 5:45 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., and breakfast starts at 7 a.m.

Baths and Onsen

The communal bath and open-air bath use alkaline simple onsen water (pH 9.78). The source water, at 37.2°C, is heated and has water added, and it is served free-flowing (kakenagashi). The water is hypotonic (low in osmotic pressure), and the ryokan describes it as gentle on babies and older people. Bathing hours are 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. There are no bath towels at the communal bath, so please bring yours from your room. It is not stated whether children who are not yet out of diapers may get into the baths, so please check in advance. A bathing tax of 150 yen per person applies to guests aged 12 and over. No private-hire bath or family bath is mentioned. If you want to bathe just as a family, you can use the in-room open-air bath in one of the two top-floor Japanese-Western rooms with an open-air bath, though that water is not onsen.
