forumWhat families say

Rakuten Travel rating 4.43 out of 5 (625 reviews). Many guests mention that the bath, toilet and washbasin area are separate, so family members can use them at the same time without getting in each other's way. Other reviews say the breakfast had plenty of variety and satisfied children and adults alike, and that the children's amenities were a big help. On the other hand, some guests point out that the toilet is small, and some found the parking full and used a paid parking lot nearby.

Overview

Vessel Hotel Hiroshima Heiwa Odori is a business hotel in Takaramachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima, that opened in August 2025. Children aged 18 and under stay free of charge when co-sleeping in the same room as their parents or grandparents. Cribs, bed guards, strollers and other items are available to borrow free of charge, and disposable diapers and baby wipes are also provided free of charge. There are Deluxe Rooms of 43.9 sq m for 2 to 6 guests, and in the Japanese-style tatami rooms the bedding is mattresses only. The hotel has no communal bath, playroom or nursing room, and the breakfast buffet is the only meal served.

Rooms

The hotel has 194 guest rooms on floors 2 to 19, all of them non-smoking. You take off your shoes in the rooms and can walk around barefoot, and every room has an air purifier with a humidifying function. Beds can be pushed together on request to the staff. The Single Room (19.6 sq m) and the Double Room (21.9 sq m) each have one 140 cm-wide bed and sleep 1 to 2 guests. The Extra Twin Room (21.9 sq m) has one 140 cm-wide bed and one 100 cm-wide bed and sleeps 2 to 3 guests. The Twin Room (21.9 to 24.3 sq m) has two 140 cm-wide beds and sleeps up to 4 guests; even if you book it for 3 or 4 guests, there are still 2 beds.

The Deluxe Room comes in Western-style and Japanese-style tatami versions, both 43.9 sq m and sleeping 2 to 6 guests, and there are 4 beds even when 6 guests stay. There are 9 Deluxe Rooms (Western-style), set up in three ways: with two 140 cm-wide beds (2 to 4 guests), as a Triple with a 90 cm-wide bed added for 3 beds in all (3 to 5 guests), or as a Fours (quad) with 4 beds. The Triple keeps its 3 beds even when 4 or 5 guests stay. The 3 Deluxe Rooms (Japanese-style tatami room) have no beds: the bedding is mattresses only, two 140 cm wide and two 97 cm wide.

Checkout is at 11 a.m., and depending on availability on the day, it can be extended until 2 p.m. at 1,000 yen per room per hour, tax included. The charge is added hour by hour, so the full 3 hours until 2 p.m. come to 3,000 yen per room.

Dining

Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet served in the 1st-floor lounge from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For staying guests it costs 1,600 yen for adults and 800 yen for ages 6 to 12, and it is free for ages 5 and under. Breakfast for co-sleeping children is not included even in plans with breakfast, and for children aged 6 and over it is paid separately at check-in. Only children's baby food and formula may be brought into the breakfast venue. The 8 specified allergenic ingredients are labeled, but the kitchen cannot remove ingredients from dishes. Lunch, dinner and room service are not offered, and there is a 7-Eleven a 1-minute walk from the hotel.

Baths

There is no communal bath, private-hire bath, onsen or sauna at the hotel. In every room, the bath, the washbasin and the toilet are in three separate spaces, so the washbasin is less likely to get crowded even when the whole family is using it.

Disposable diapers (sizes S, M and L) and baby wipes are provided free of charge.
