Shigisan Kanko Hotel is an onsen ryokan on Mount Shigi in Sango-cho, Ikoma-gun, Nara. It has the only natural onsen communal bath on Mount Shigi. The main building (West Wing and East Wing) holds 32 Japanese-style tatami rooms, and the annex has 10 Japanese-style tatami rooms with Japanese-style beds set on the tatami. The Japanese-Western room on the fourth floor of the West Wing combines a tatami area with a Western-style area and sleeps up to 6 guests. Meals for children are prepared according to age, and food allergies can be discussed when you book. A shuttle bus from JR Oji Station is available as well.
Rooms
The main building has 32 Japanese-style tatami rooms across the West and East Wings, all non-smoking, and the annex has 10 Japanese-style tatami rooms with Japanese-style beds set on the tatami. The East Wing rooms are reached only by stairs, with no elevator, and because the stairs are somewhat steep they make up the lowest-priced room type; guests who are pregnant or have difficulty walking should take care. The annex rooms are likewise reached only by stairs, and guests who find stairs difficult are asked to contact the ryokan in advance. In the annex, the Japanese-style tatami rooms of 12 to 15 tatami mats are made up with beds for up to 3 guests and with futon bedding for 4 or more. Room 401 on the fourth floor of the West Wing is a Japanese-Western room on the pond side, combining a 10-tatami Japanese-style area (futon bedding for up to 4) with a Western-style area holding 2 beds, and it sleeps up to 6 guests together.
