Overview

Prince Smart Inn Osaka Yodoyabashi is an accommodation-focused hotel with 312 rooms, about a 1-minute walk from the No. 12 exit of Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and the Keihan Main Line. There are 10 room types - twin, double, triple and universal - and most sleep 1-2 guests; only the Superior, Deluxe and Standard Triple types can take 3 people in one room. Children under 6 stay free when co-sleeping, and otherwise children are charged the same rate as adults. Even room-only plans come with a free breakfast service, and guests can pick up a hot dog, soup and a drink on the first basement floor and take them back to the room. On the other hand, there is no communal bath, onsen, pool, playroom or childcare service, and no baby items such as a crib or bed guard are listed as available to borrow. It works best as a base for traveling light, making the most of a location with direct Midosuji Line access to Umeda, Shinsaibashi and Namba.

Location and Access

Prince Smart Inn Osaka Yodoyabashi is an accommodation-focused hotel with 312 rooms in Koraibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka. It is about a 1-minute walk from the No. 12 exit of Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and the Keihan Main Line, and the Midosuji Line reaches Umeda, Hommachi, Shinsaibashi and Namba without a transfer. A FamilyMart is less than a minute away on foot, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. There is no dedicated parking, so guests use pay parking lots nearby. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to midnight, and checkout is at 11 a.m.

Rooms and Co-Sleeping

There are 10 room types across twin, double, triple and universal categories. Urban Twin (15 sq m), Compact Twin (15 sq m), Smart Twin (16 sq m), Twin (19 sq m), Standard Twin (25 sq m) and Double (15 sq m) each sleep 1-2 guests. Only three types take 3 people in one room: Superior (26 sq m), Deluxe (28 sq m, 16th floor) and Standard Triple (25 sq m). The Superior and Deluxe have an extra bed set up only when 3 guests stay, while the Standard Triple has three beds. The Universal Room (33 sq m / 45 sq m, 3rd floor) is designed for a comfortable stay for wheelchair users and can be booked by phone only. All rooms are non-smoking and come with free Wi-Fi, a television, a toilet with a bidet-style washing function, a refrigerator, a kettle, mineral water, paper cups, a hair dryer and slippers. An air purifier is listed among the room features for the Smart Twin, Twin, Standard Twin, Superior, Deluxe, Standard Triple and Universal rooms, but not for the Urban Twin, Compact Twin or Double. The Smart Twin bathroom has a shower only, while the Superior has a bathtub. There are no glasses in the rooms, so guests use paper cups, and toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes and body towels are taken as needed from the amenity corner on the first floor. There are no connecting rooms. Children under 6 stay free when co-sleeping; beyond that there is no children's rate, and children are charged the same as adults. Handling can differ by accommodation plan, so please confirm when booking.

Dining

Breakfast comes in two forms depending on your accommodation plan. Guests on a room-only plan receive a free breakfast service at the SMART LOUNGE on the first basement floor, consisting of a hot dog, soup, and coffee or tea, which can also be taken back to the room. Guests on a plan with breakfast included use the Japanese-Western breakfast buffet at the first-basement restaurant Kuroge Wagyu Senmon Ten no Sachi Yama no Sachi Yodoyabashi. Both are served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with last entry to the buffet at 9:30 a.m. The buffet is 1,600 yen per person including tax, and guests on plans with the free breakfast service can also use it by paying that price. Buffet dishes include dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet), a daily grilled fish, natto (fermented soybeans), miso soup, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, rice, curry, bread, yogurt and fruit. There is no information about baby food, toddler meals, children's tableware or bibs, or allergy accommodation, and there is no room service.

Facilities and Check-In

The first floor has vending machines, a microwave, an amenity corner and lockers for staying guests, and the first basement floor has the restaurant, a coin laundry (for a fee), an ice machine and the SMART LOUNGE vending machines. There is a universal restroom on the first floor, and one wheelchair is available. Check-in is self-service at an automated check-in machine, and with the hotel's app your smartphone becomes your room key. The dedicated lockers in the lobby can be used free of charge before check-in on the day of arrival only; numbers are limited and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The entire property is non-smoking, with no smoking area. For stays of 2 or more consecutive nights, no housekeeping is the default as an environmental measure; if you would like your room cleaned, hang the designated magnet on the outside of your door by 8 a.m. (for hygiene reasons, rooms are cleaned every third night). Room charges are, as a rule, prepaid by credit card, and cash payment is not accepted. The hotel does not handle courier deliveries or currency exchange and directs guests to nearby facilities for both.

What to Check Before Staying with Children

There is no communal bath, onsen, sauna, private-hire bath or pool; bathing is done in the guest-room bathroom. There is also no playroom, outdoor play area or childcare service. Baby items - a crib, baby futon, bed guard, stroller, diaper bin or baby bath - are not listed as available to borrow, so plan to bring what you need. Because most rooms sleep 1-2 guests, the choice of room types is limited if you are staying three to a room with a child too old to count as co-sleeping. Late checkout is described in one place as available for a fee of 1,000 yen per hour subject to availability on the day, and in another as not accepted as a rule, so if you need it, check both when booking and on the day. The hotel is not suited to a stay where you want play spaces or bathing facilities on site, but it works well as a light, convenient base for exploring the Midosuji Line area on foot.
