Four Points Flex by Sheraton Shin-Osaka is a 1- to 3-minute walk from Shin-Osaka Station, making it an easy base for business trips or sightseeing. Rooms come in three types - single, double and twin - and the twin rooms have two beds 110 cm wide, a layout that suits families. Up to one child can co-sleep, but elementary school children pay 100% of the adult rate even when co-sleeping. Infants and toddlers cannot be added through the booking system, but up to one can co-sleep free of charge; families who want this must contact the hotel directly. Breakfast is a choice of Japanese or Western set meals at Yayoi-ken. There is no indoor or outdoor pool and no childcare service.
Rooms
Guests can choose from three room types: single, double and twin. The single is 13 sq m for 1 guest, with a bed 120 cm wide and 200 cm long. The double is 13 sq m with one bed 140 cm wide and accommodates 1-2 guests. The twin is 18 sq m with two beds 110 cm wide, a layout suited to families and groups of friends. Up to one child can co-sleep, and elementary school children, in both the lower and upper grades, pay 100% of the adult rate. A Refa hair dryer, a humidifier, a desk lamp and similar items can be borrowed free of charge at the front desk, in limited numbers. Weekday-only plans may allow checkout to be extended to 12 noon.
Dining
Breakfast is served at Yayoi-ken on the first floor of the hotel. Each set meal brings freshly cooked rice together with miso soup, a main dish and side dishes on a single tray, with a choice of five Japanese and Western sets. Rice, bread, salad and pickles come with free refills. Breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and room service is not available.
Family-friendly features
The front desk is staffed 24 hours and can store luggage before check-in and after checkout. Elevators make it easy to move around the building. On the other hand, there is no indoor or outdoor pool and no childcare service. Both non-smoking and smoking rooms are available, so you can choose when you book.
Access
The nearest station is Shin-Osaka Station: about a 1-minute walk from the exit of the Osaka Municipal Subway Midosuji Line and about a 3-minute walk from the JR station. There is no parking, so guests arriving by car need to use a nearby parking lot. Universal Studios Japan is about 35 minutes away, Kaiyukan about 45 minutes, and Expo Commemorative Park about 40 minutes.
