Overview
Midosuji Hotel is a hot-spring hotel one minute on foot from Exit 11 of Nanba Station, served by the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, the Nankai lines and the Kintetsu lines. Its own natural hot spring, Botejyu Nanba Onsen, feeds not only the communal baths but the bath in every guest room, so families can soak together without having to work around the communal-bath hours. Co-sleeping is available for children of elementary school age and younger, and on the family plan up to 2 children aged 0 to 6 can co-sleep free of charge.
Rooms
The hotel has 60 rooms in all, in types such as Single, Semi-Double, Moderate Twin, Moderate Double and Superior Twin. A Moderate Twin is 25 sq m with beds 100 cm to 110 cm wide. A Moderate Double is also 25 sq m and uses a large Hollywood-style bed, 200 cm to 220 cm wide, made by joining two twin beds together - a good fit for parents with a small child. If a child will be co-sleeping, you need to let the hotel know in advance. The largest room, the Superior Twin, is 36 sq m with two beds 130 cm wide and takes up to 2 adults and 2 children, and 2 rooms are fitted with a sofa bed for 3 guests. Note that cribs and extra beds cannot be used anywhere in the hotel.
Baths and Onsen
The hotel draws its own natural hot spring, Botejyu Nanba Onsen. The water is a mildly alkaline simple spring, relatively low in dissolved minerals, which keeps it gentle on the skin. The communal baths are on the 10th floor of the main building for men and the 3rd floor for women, and staying guests may use them free of charge from 6 p.m. to midnight. There is no cold plunge bath, and the sauna is on the 10th floor only. The same hot-spring water is piped to the bath in every guest room, so your family can bathe at its own pace without minding communal-bath hours or other guests. Guests with tattoos may not use the communal baths, but they can use the bath in their room.
