Kuu and Fuu Oshima

Kuu and Fuu Oshima, tucked into a quiet forest in Senzu in the northeast of Izu Oshima, is a guesthouse where you rent a nostalgic traditional-style detached house in its entirety. Surrounded by nature, it is a place where the family can take things slowly on their own.

The greatest appeal is having the house in the forest all to yourselves. With no other guests around, even families with young children can relax at their own pace without worrying about other people. From the spacious deck you look out over green trees and blue sky and feel the fresh breeze of Izu Oshima. For children, it becomes a special stretch of time in nature that a city cannot offer.

A pleasure unique to this guesthouse is meeting its cat. True to the concept of relaxing time with a cat in a traditional-style house, children who love animals have a happy encounter waiting for them. If anyone in your group is uncomfortable with cats or has an allergy, please talk to the guesthouse in advance.

It is also convenient as a base for GEO (geology) experiences that let you feel how the volcanic island of Izu Oshima was formed. You can enjoy learning about the island's magnificent nature at sights such as the lava of Mount Mihara and the Great Stratum Cross-Section.

The guesthouse sits in the Senzu district in the northeast, about 10 minutes by car from Okada Port. A rental car takes you around spots families enjoy, including Mount Mihara, Tsubaki Hana Garden where you can meet squirrels, and Oshima Park Zoo, which is free to enter.

Stays are basically room-only, so meals are not served. Please confirm details such as the kitchen and other equipment, the maximum number of guests, arrangements for babies and arrangements regarding the cat directly with the guesthouse when you book.
