Dining
Dinner and breakfast are both served in the restaurant, and meals cannot be taken in your room. The restaurant is only for guests who have booked a plan that includes meals, and reservations must be made in advance by 4 p.m. on the day. Dinner offers a choice of three kaiseki (multi-course Japanese) meals, and the Take kaiseki is the most popular course for its balance of quality and quantity. Breakfast is a Japanese-style meal made with ingredients from Tochigi Prefecture. Children's rates are 70% of the adult rate for ages 6 to 12 (elementary school age) and 50% for ages 3 to 5 (children who have not yet started elementary school; 100% for breakfast-only or room-only stays). Children ages 0 to 2 co-sleep free of charge, with a limit of one child. Vegetarian menus can also be arranged with advance reservation.
Baths and onsen
Chuzenji Onsen is a natural sulfur spring that turns milky white on contact with the air; the water is a 100% natural sulfur onsen. There are 2 communal baths and 4 open-air baths, one of which is covered by a roof and can be used even on rainy days. The water is said to be good for the skin and for sensitivity to cold, among other benefits. Guests ages 12 and over pay a separate bathing tax of 150 yen. Guests with tattoos may bathe only if the tattoos can be covered with tattoo cover seals (10 x 15 cm, up to 2 sheets). Cover seals are sold at the front desk for 250 yen each.

Snow falls from December to March, so studless tires or similar preparation is necessary.
