The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko is a luxury hotel on the shore of Lake Chuzenji, inside Nikko National Park, with views of Mount Nantai. All 94 rooms have a balcony overlooking the lake or the mountains. The Riverside Garden View King is 57 sq m and sleeps 1 to 2 guests, with one bed measuring 183 cm wide by 203 cm long and 34 cm high. Every room has a private balcony looking out over the lake or the mountains. Each room has an entryway where you take off your shoes, a lounge space inspired by the engawa, the traditional Japanese veranda, and a bathroom with a Japanese-style tub and a separate shower. The spacious room layouts and the large windows spanning an entire wall are said to make the rooms well suited to family trips with children.

At the hotel restaurant you can choose a Japanese or Western breakfast, made with fresh Tochigi Prefecture ingredients and served in a special wooden box. Baths and Onsen
The onsen communal bath and open-air bath draw on the source of Nikko Yumoto Onsen, which has a history of more than 1,200 years. The water is a sulfur spring that turns milky white on contact with the air. Hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and the baths are closed from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for cleaning. Staying guests can use them free of charge. Children who have not completed toilet training are asked not to use the baths, and the same applies to bathing in a swim diaper. Children under 6 can bathe together with a parent or other accompanying adult of the opposite sex. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by someone aged 20 or over. The bathtubs in the guest rooms are not fed by the hot spring, so the onsen can be enjoyed only at the bathing facility. There is no private-hire family bath.

The hotel is about 40 minutes by bus bound for Yumoto Onsen from Tobu Nikko Station or JR Nikko Station, and The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko stop is right at the hotel. By car, it is about 18 km from the Kiyotaki Interchange on the Nikko-Utsunomiya Road. Parking is available for 25 vehicles, and staying guests can use it for 3,000 yen per night, including tax.
