Overview
Munbu Stay Higawahama is a hotel that opened in July 2024 in the Higawa district of Yonaguni Island. It stands right next to the filming location of the popular drama Dr. Koto Clinic, with a beach stretching out in front. The guest rooms are 16.2 sq m Suite Twins, each in its own standalone building with a shower and toilet, and the accommodation plans include children's rates. A free shuttle runs from Yonaguni Airport, and for dinner you are taken by shuttle to Yonaguni Munbu Kitchen in front of the airport.
Rooms
The guest rooms are Suite Twins with either an ocean view or a garden view. Each is a standalone building of 16.2 sq m with a shower and toilet. There are 6 rooms in total, each sleeping 1 to 2 guests, and children's rates are available. Rooms have Wi-Fi internet access, a refrigerator, a hair dryer, a toilet with a washing function, amenities such as shampoo and body soap, and bath towels, and an electric kettle is available to borrow. All rooms are non-smoking. Depending on the plan, your room may not have a television, so please check before booking. Check-in is from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the latest, and checkout is by 10 a.m.

Breakfast can be picked up at the hotel reception building every morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you would like breakfast, you need to book a plan that includes it, or else request it separately through the application form or by telling a staff member at check-in. Dinner is served at Yonaguni Munbu Kitchen in front of Yonaguni Airport, with a free shuttle from Higawahama. Some breakfast-included plans offer pork tamago onigiri (rice balls with pork and egg), an Okinawan soul food. It is handed over as takeout, so you can take it back to your room or onto the plane.

There are no convenience stores or supermarkets on the island; the Higawa community co-op store is a 5-minute walk away. No cancellation fee applies if your flight or ferry is canceled due to bad weather. You can also extend your stay if no other guests have booked.
