Abyan Guesthouse Kubura is a room-only guesthouse near Kubura Port on Yonaguni Island. The private rooms range from single rooms for one guest, through Large rooms for 1 to 4 guests, which work well for a parent and child together, up to the Hanare Big room for 3 to 6 guests. The toilets, showers, kitchen and laundry are shared, and the guest rooms have no bathrooms. The shuttle from the airport and the port is free of charge with advance reservation, and there is a car rental service on the premises, which makes sightseeing around the island easier with children.
Rooms
There are five room types: Single (a private room for one guest), Semi-Double (a private room for 1 to 2 guests), Large (a private room for 1 to 4 guests), Hanare Twin (a private room for 1 to 2 guests in the detached annex) and Hanare Big (a private room for 3 to 6 guests in the detached annex). The Single is 5 sq m, the Semi-Double 6.8 sq m and the Large 10 sq m, and none of the rooms has a bath or toilet. The Large room has bunk beds, and the Hanare Big room is set up with three to six movable single beds, so it takes larger groups. The Hanare Twin room has two single beds. Every room is room-only, with futon bedding, pillows, towel blankets and blankets provided. All rooms are non-smoking, and they have a door guard so you can lock them from the inside, though there is no external lock.
Dining
There are no places serving breakfast nearby, so you will need to buy something at a shop or prepare it in advance. There are places open for lunch without a reservation, but many restaurants require reservations for dinner, so it is worth checking beforehand. If arranging meals proves difficult, you can prepare ingredients in advance and cook at the guesthouse.
Baths
Bathing is by shared shower only, with separate showers for men and women. There is no bathtub in the guest rooms either. After checkout, you can use the shower free of charge if you reserve in advance.
