Rooms
Kinugawa Plaza Hotel has 159 rooms in total, ranging from Japanese-style tatami rooms and Western-style rooms to rooms with an open-air bath and special rooms. The renovated Japanese-style tatami rooms on the gorge side are 10 tatami mats with a bidet toilet and sleep 2 to 5 guests. Japanese-style tatami rooms with an adjoining anteroom (10 mats plus 6 mats, about 30 sq m) sleep 2 to 8 guests. Hotel-assigned rooms, which will be either a Japanese-style tatami room or a Western-style room, sleep 1 to 5 guests. The gorge-side Western-style twin rooms of 10 mats sleep 2 to 4 guests, and futon bedding is provided for bookings of 2 or more guests. Every room type has child rates. The 5 gorge-side rooms with an open-air bath in the Sui category reopened after renovation in winter 2025; they previously had only a corner tub, but a built-in bath unit has been added, so guests can now soak in the onsen indoors as well. The special rooms with an open-air bath in the Sansui Setsugekka category all face the mountain stream and are two-room suites with hinoki (Japanese cypress) tubs.
Dining
The place and content of dinner vary by plan: a half buffet or a Japanese set meal in the semi-private dining area, or a buffet at the restaurant in the separate building. The semi-private dining area includes seats separated by partitions and roller blinds. Some plans offer in-room dining, but each room type has its own limit on the number of guests: up to 5 in the renovated Japanese-style tatami rooms, up to 3 in the Sui rooms with an open-air bath, up to 4 in the Sansui Setsugekka special rooms with an open-air bath, up to 4 in the Fuwari corner suite with a view bath, and up to 2 in Hannari. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet at the restaurant, with freshly baked bread. Children's meals and bedding are booked by age: no application is required for children age 0, children ages 1 to 3 are booked as "no meal or bedding," and children ages 4 and over are booked under options such as "preschool child with meal and bedding." When a child who is co-sleeping and booked without a meal or bedding uses the buffet area, a separate admission fee may apply depending on the plan, for example 2,200 yen including tax.
Baths and Onsen
The communal bath is divided into Tono no Yu for men and Hime no Yu for women. Both have indoor baths, an open-air bath and a sauna, fed by a free-flowing, weakly alkaline, hypotonic onsen, and are open from 2 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning. There are two private-hire baths. Kito-tei, a 4-minute walk from the hotel, can be used for 50 minutes, and soap, shampoo and similar products cannot be used in the private-hire baths. The other, Akebi, sits along the Kinugawa Gorge; its spring water is a slightly lukewarm 38°C, and it is 10 minutes from the hotel by car, with a shuttle provided. Because bathing times do not overlap with those of other guests, these baths are easy to use with small children without worrying about other bathers.
