Kaike Tsuruya is a long-established ryokan near the shore in Kaike Onsen, founded in Showa 36 (1961). Rooms range from 8-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms to Japanese-Western rooms with beds and a suite with its own open-air bath. Alongside the communal bath and open-air bath, guests can also book a private-hire bath fed by natural onsen water flowing straight from the source. Rooms
The ryokan offers a wide range of rooms, centered on Japanese-style tatami rooms of 8 to 10 mats and extending to more spacious rooms for families. Alongside standard tatami rooms for 1 to 5 guests, a 12.5-mat tatami room sleeps 2 to 6 and a 14-mat tatami room sleeps 2 to 7, making them suitable for multigenerational trips. The Japanese-Western room Yukaku (32 sq m, 1 to 3 guests) has two mattresses 110 cm wide, and a futon can be added when 3 guests stay. Futons can likewise be added in the corner Comfort Room Muzuru (48 sq m, 1 to 4 guests) when 3 or 4 guests stay. The suite Shokaku (18.5 tatami mats, 2 to 6 guests) has a scenic hinoki cypress open-air bath and suits a special family stay.

Dinner is served either in a dining venue or as in-room dining, and the ryokan's Japanese restaurant also has quiet private rooms. Children in the upper elementary grades are charged 70% of the adult rate and those in the lower grades 50%. At 70%, the meal is a kaiseki course based on the adult menu; at 50%, it is a kids' meal. Children who co-sleep and are booked with meals also receive a kids' meal. Colorful meals are prepared for children under school age as well.
