Hotel Asyl Nara is a convenient station-side hotel about a 5- to 7-minute walk from JR Nara Station and Kintetsu Nara Station. The 10-tatami modern Japanese-style room accommodates up to 4 guests, with additional futons provided for stays with 3 or more guests. Superior rooms include Western-style rooms and Japanese-Western rooms with tatami beds. They measure 32 to 34 sq m and have beds measuring W1100 mm × L1950 mm. The 80-sq m Royal Suite is a maisonette-style room accommodating up to 8 guests. It has a separate bathroom, a kitchenette and an irori (sunken hearth) on the lower level, and a sofa set on the upper level. The Shikamarokun Room, limited to 1 room per day, provides picture books and wooden toys. The Nyaramachi Room, also limited to 1 room per day, is themed around a family of black cats. Dining

Children may dine at the restaurant Japanese Cuisine Kagariya. Private dining rooms are available in limited numbers by reservation, and semi-private seating with partitions is also available. A small course is prepared for children under school age. For dinner, there are 2 kids' plate options: Kids' Plate A (JPY 1,800, for children from age 4 through elementary school age; Hamburg steak simmered in sauce, french fries, fried shrimp, sausage, fried chicken, salad, steamed egg custard, rice balls, udon, rolled omelet, corn soup, and dessert) and Kids' Plate B (JPY 1,000; fried shrimp, fried chicken, french fries, rice balls, udon, and dessert). The restaurant can also accommodate meals prepared with allergies in mind. Breakfast is served buffet-style at the same restaurant from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Baths

The communal bath is free of charge. Two baths with different atmospheres alternate between men's and women's use in the morning and evening, and are available from 2 p.m. to midnight and from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. They are not onsen. A private-hire bath with a Shigaraki pottery tub is also available for families who want to bathe privately. It must be reserved for one 50-minute session at JPY 1,200, including tax. Advance inquiries by phone or email and a reservation on a first-come, first-served basis are required.

Family-friendly features

Strollers are available to borrow for getting around Nara. Children's tableware is also available to borrow. The front desk lends picture books and toys. Disposable toothbrushes and slippers are provided for children under school age, and children's pajamas are available to borrow at the front desk in limited quantities. Children under school age may use the breakfast buffet regardless of whether they use bedding. Under plans offering free co-sleeping through elementary school age, children's bath amenities and diapers are not provided.

Access

The JR Yamatoji Line Nara Station is about a 5-minute walk from its east exit, and Kintetsu Nara Line Nara Station is about a 7-minute walk from Exit 7. Parking is available for up to 6 vehicles, including 1 space for a vehicle for guests with disabilities, at JPY 1,300 per night including tax.
