In the basement of the entertainment wing in the Western-style building are 4 family baths (Ginreisen, Furosen, Shipposen, and Tamanoisen), each with its own character, where a family can bathe on its own. They are reached along a mosaic-tiled corridor that has been in use since the ryokan opened.

Gero Onsen Yunoshimakan is a long-established ryokan founded in 1931, standing on a hill above Gero Onsen on grounds of 50,000 tsubo (a tsubo is about 3.3 sq m). Alongside the main building, a nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property, there are guest rooms of differing character: the annex has rooms with open-air baths, and Keizanso has rooms with view baths. Family-friendly touches include co-sleeping, kids' meals for children under school age, and 4 family baths, and Suisen no Ma, with its own dining room, suits family stays well. Note, however, that the main building remains as it was built in 1931, so sound carries and vibrations can be felt.
Rooms
Yunoshimakan was built in 1931, and the main building, a nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property, is the same wooden structure it was when the ryokan opened. Main building rooms consist of an 8-mat Japanese-style tatami main room, an antechamber, a broad window-side space, and a toilet; they have no bath of their own, so guests use the communal baths. Because the building remains as it was when the ryokan opened, sound carries and vibrations can be felt, and guests are asked to keep quiet after 10 p.m. The annex has 6 rooms with an indoor bath and an open-air bath fed by onsen water flowing directly from the source; among them, Chigusa no Ma has a spacious tatami area and is recommended for families with children. Some annex rooms, however, are reached by stairs. Every room in Keizanso has a view bath, built so that opening the windows fully turns it into a semi-open-air bath. Suisen no Ma in Keizanso is a Japanese-Western room and the only room with beds. A dining room sits next to the Japanese-style tatami room and the twin bedroom, reachable without stepping into the corridor, so both dinner and breakfast can be enjoyed in a private space, a good fit for family stays.

Dinner is served in a private dining room, or in your room depending on the room type, as with Keizanso and Suisen no Ma. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal built around freshly cooked Koshihikari rice from Gifu Prefecture, with dishes such as onsen eggs, house-made tofu, and hoba miso yaki (miso grilled on a magnolia leaf), a regional specialty of Hida. For children, there is a kaiseki course adjusted in content at 70% of the adult rate, as well as a children's plate for younger children. Baths and Onsen
The spring water is an alkaline simple onsen. There are 2 communal baths, along with 2 panoramic open-air baths, Sankei no Yu and Hizan no Yu, which look out from the hilltop over the streets of Gero and the mountains of Hida. In the basement of the entertainment wing in the Western-style building are 4 family baths (Ginreisen, Furosen, Shipposen, and Tamanoisen) where families can enjoy the onsen on their own. Guest rooms also offer onsen baths of various kinds, including indoor baths, private open-air baths, and hinoki cypress baths, and water from the source reaches the baths and showers as well. Note that the communal baths and open-air baths are closed for cleaning from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.
