Unazuki Onsen Enraku is a long-established ryokan in Unazuki Onsen, now in its 89th year. Every guest room faces Kurobe Gorge, and the choices range from Japanese-style tatami rooms with a ceramic or hinoki-wood open-air bath to Japanese-Western rooms with twin beds. Meals are served either as in-room dining or in a private dining room, and groups of 5 or more that include children under school age are seated in a private dining room. Elementary school children are served an adapted version of the adult menu, while children who have not yet started elementary school have a menu of their own. There is no private-hire bath, but a room with an open-air bath lets the family bathe on their own.
Rooms
Every guest room faces Kurobe Gorge, so you can take in the scenery of each season from your room. The main building has 11-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms with a ceramic open-air bath (for 1-3 guests) and 13.5-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms with a hinoki-wood open-air bath (for 1-5 guests). It also has 11-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms without an open-air bath that face the clear waters of the Kurobe River (for 1-5 guests, with child rates available; these rooms show a little age). Taihokaku has Japanese-Western rooms with a newly added open-air bath and twin beds (for 1-4 guests), Japanese-style tatami rooms with an open-air bath (for 1-4 guests), and 12.5-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms without an open-air bath (for 1-6 guests), all with child rates available. The special Hinoki VIP Suite is a Japanese-Western room with a 12-tatami-mat main room, an open-air bath, a sitting room and a bedroom with twin beds, for 2-6 guests, with child rates available. Guest rooms are non-smoking.

Meals are served either as in-room dining or in a private dining room, and groups of 5 or more that include children under school age are seated in a private dining room. Elementary school children are served a lightly adapted version of the adult menu, and children under school age have a dedicated children's menu; you can discuss the details when you book. If anyone in your party has a food allergy, let the ryokan know at least 3 days in advance and they will accommodate it as far as they can.
Baths and Onsen
Unazuki Onsen is a colorless, clear, weakly alkaline simple onsen, considered a beauty bath that is gentle on the skin. There is no private-hire bath or family bath, but choosing a room with an open-air bath lets the family bathe on their own. The communal bath is unavailable from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Family-friendly features
The ryokan welcomes stays with children, adapting the adult dishes for elementary school children. However, the top-tier Miyabizen and Takumizen plans allow only one co-sleeping child and cannot accept elementary school children or infants and toddlers. Babysitting is not available. Barrier-free guest rooms are available, with wheelchair access and a Western-style toilet in the room.

The nearest station, Unazuki-Onsen Station on the Toyama Chiho Railway, is about a 3-minute walk away. A free shuttle bus, which requires advance reservation, runs from Kurobe-Unazuki-Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, and by car it is about 20 minutes from the Kurobe IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. Parking for 40 cars is available free of charge.
