About Ito Station

Ito Station is in Yukawa 3-chome, Ito, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is served by JR East, JR Freight, and the Izu Kyuko Line (a private railway running down the Izu Peninsula). It is the southernmost station operated by JR East, at the northern edge of Ito's town center and close to Ito Onsen. During the daytime in particular, the Ito Line and the Izu Kyuko Line run through services onto each other's tracks, and in the morning and evening some trains of the Ueno-Tokyo Line (which links northern lines with the Tokaido Line through central Tokyo) also come and go. It is a ground-level station with two platforms and three tracks, and the station building faces Platform 1. Renovation of the building was completed in March 2019, and outside the ticket gates there is a commercial facility with souvenir shops and a tourist information center.
