Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel and Towers
forumWhat families say
Rakuten Travel rating 4.62 out of 5 (2,179 reviews). Families value the direct connection to Yokohama Station, which lets them reach the underground mall and Takashimaya without getting wet in the rain. Guests also praise the attentive staff, who were kind to their children, and rate the breakfast highly. On the other hand, some guests felt the rooms had not been thoroughly cleaned, which is worth keeping in mind.

Overview
Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel and Towers is a city hotel connected underground to the west exit of Yokohama Station, a 1-minute walk away. Children ages 0 to 12 stay at no charge when co-sleeping, cribs and bed guards are available to borrow free of charge (advance reservation required, limited quantities), and the 6th floor has a nursing room with a diaper-changing table. The breakfast buffet has a set price for children ages 4 to 12, and a table-manners class for children is held during the summer holidays. Children under 18 cannot use the indoor pool.
Rooms
The hotel is connected underground to the west exit of Yokohama Station. Guest rooms are divided into the Standard Floors on floors 10 to 19, the Luxury Floors on floors 20 to 23, and the Sheraton Club Floors on floors 24 to 27. The Standard Double is 23 sq m for 1 to 2 guests, with a bed 140 cm wide. The Standard Twin is 34 sq m for 1 to 3 guests, with two beds 120 cm wide; adding an extra bed turns it into a triple room. Some rooms on the Luxury Floors, such as the Deluxe Twin, accommodate 1 to 4 guests. Connecting rooms are also available on some floors, with reservation required. In every room, a crib for babies aged 0 and a bed guard for co-sleeping are available to borrow free of charge, though both require advance reservation and are limited in number. Children's amenities are also delivered to the room on request. Children ages 0 to 12 stay at no charge when co-sleeping.
Dining
Breakfast is served at the all-day dining restaurant Compass on the 2nd floor from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with last orders at 9:30 a.m. The Kanagawa Breakfast buffet lays out about 80 varied Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes. The price is 5,000 yen for adults and 2,500 yen for children ages 4 to 12, and children's cutlery is provided. Room service is available too: the breakfast menu from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the grand menu from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the late-night menu from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. and again from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. For food allergies, you can ask in advance for information on the 28 specified allergen ingredients, but dishes are not prepared in a dedicated facility, so cross-contamination cannot be ruled out, and special arrangements may be declined in the interest of safety.
Family-friendly features
There is a nursing room on the 6th floor with 2 booths and a diaper-changing table. Guests under 20 are asked to refrain from using the Sky Lounge Bay View during cocktail time, and from using the bar Bay West, so families dining with young children will want to choose one of the other restaurants. The hotel has an indoor pool, but there is no children's pool and children under 18 cannot use it; guests aged 13 and over may use it when accompanied by someone aged 18 or over. Barrier-free facilities include an accessible multipurpose restroom on the 1st floor and wheelchair-accessible elevators. During the summer holidays, the hotel holds Sheraton Table Manners for KIDS, a children's lunch event about dining etiquette. Elementary and junior high school students can take part, as can children below elementary school age who can sit at the table on their own. Stay plans that include admission tickets to the Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum are also available.
Access
The hotel is a 1-minute walk from the west exit of Yokohama Station, connected underground. Shin-Yokohama Station is 11 minutes away by subway. Haneda Airport is about 22 minutes away on the Keikyu Line, and Narita Airport about 90 minutes away on the Narita Express. The hotel does not run its own free shuttle service. Because the route from the station runs through the underground mall and covered walkways, you can arrive without getting wet even in the rain. The underground parking has 230 spaces, and hotel guests pay 1,900 yen per night. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout is at noon.
