Independent villas in Bise, a 3-minute drive from Churaumi Aquarium

KANGEN HOTEL MOTOBU BISE consists of four independent suite villas in Bise, Motobu Town, in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. It opened on June 15, 2019. Each villa is a maisonette-style unit of 110 sq m with 3 bedrooms (6 beds), sleeping up to 6 guests. Because you have the whole villa to yourselves, there is no need to worry about your children's voices or night-time crying carrying to the room next door. Every room is soundproofed as well, which is reassuring for families with young children.

The location is the heart of this property. The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is about 3 minutes away by car and Emerald Beach about 2 minutes, with the south gate of Ocean Expo Park about 1 minute away by car. Trips back and forth between the aquarium and the beach stay very short with children in tow. The terrace looks out over peaceful farmland and the East China Sea, with Ie Island floating directly ahead.

Naha Airport is about 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours away by car using the expressway. By bus it takes about 2 hours 50 minutes, so getting around by rental car is the realistic option. Parking is free, with 9 spaces.

Barbecue on the terrace, and a villa equipped for everyday living

Every guest villa has a barbecue set on its terrace, so you can grill while watching the sun go down behind Ie Island. The barbecue runs on gas, so there is none of the work of getting charcoal lit. Being able to get everything ready one-handed while keeping an eye on the children is a genuinely practical advantage.

Inside, there is an induction cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner, frying pan, saucepan and tableware, so you can settle in and live at your own pace. A crib, rice cooker, coffee maker and an iron with ironing board are available to borrow. Each villa has two bathrooms and two toilets. Coffee and tea are provided for guests, along with a water server.

Honest points to note

When it comes to facilities for children, what is provided goes only as far as a crib available to borrow. There is no information about a baby bath, baby chair, children's tableware, baby food or a playroom, so plan on bringing whatever you need. With a kitchen and a microwave, you do have what it takes to warm up or cook whatever you bring with you.

Check-in closes a little early, running from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and checkout is at 11 a.m. Because the latest check-in is 9 p.m., families arriving on a late flight need to contact the property in advance. Pets are not allowed.
