Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort is a 329-room resort hotel in the Turiba district of Hirara Kugai, Miyakojima. It is about 15 minutes by car from Miyako Airport and about 25 minutes from Shimojishima Airport. A free shuttle bus runs between the hotel and Miyako Airport, so it is easy to get around both before and after arranging a rental car. Parking is free for 300 cars, and valet service is 1,000 yen per night.

The water facilities are this hotel's real strength for families. There are 2 indoor pools and 3 outdoor pools divided into family, kids' and adult areas, five pools in all. Because the outdoor kids' pool stands on its own, small children can play well away from the deeper adult pool. The gym and the pools are free to use during your stay.

Guest rooms are mainly twin rooms, with Deluxe, Premium, Executive, Suite (70 sq m or more) and Accessible types. Every room has a private balcony, the bath and toilet are separate in every room, and all rooms are non-smoking. For stays of 3 or more guests, an extra bed is added to the twin room.

Splash kids' club - for ages 0 to 9

The Splash kids' club on the first floor has a playroom, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rates are 2,200 yen per day for ages 0 to 3, with a guardian present and unlimited reentry, and 3,300 yen for 2 hours for ages 4 to 9, with each additional hour costing 1,100 yen. Children ages 0 to 3 need a guardian with them at all times, while children from age 4 can spend their time in the care of staff. Children must be registered at the reception desk before use, and a guardian must always come to collect them afterward. The club is operated by linkworks, Inc.

Alongside this, there are activities for elementary school children up to age 9 - a useful option on a rainy day, or when the adults would like time at the spa.

Free baby items and free children's amenities

Cribs and bed guards are available to borrow free of charge, by reservation. Strollers are free as well; you can reserve one in advance, or borrow one on the day if any are available (quantities are limited).

As children's amenities, a toothbrush, pajamas, slippers and a bedwetting mat are provided free of charge. Simply request them when you book or on arrival. That cuts down what you need to pack, which makes traveling by plane easier.

A rate point to watch - adult rates from age 6

This is worth knowing before you book. Children under 6 can stay free only if they do not use a bed. Children ages 6 and over are treated as adults and are charged accordingly (children of elementary school age and older pay the same rate as adults). Rakuten Travel's information states that co-sleeping for children who have not yet started elementary school incurs no charge, so accounts of how a child who has turned 6 but has not yet started school will be treated vary. If you are traveling with a child around age 6, be sure to confirm this when booking.

In short, the rate structure is clearly favorable for families with children under school age, while families traveling with elementary school children are charged per person.

Dining

The hotel has the all-day dining restaurant Azure on the first floor, the trattoria Isoletta on the second floor, the Saryo lobby lounge on the second floor and the seasonal rooftop bar Yunai on the eighth floor, and a breakfast buffet is available as well.

In summer, a barbecue operates at the poolside (May 1 to October 31, 2026, with 40 poolside seats). A BBQ set is 12,000 yen per person, and the kids' menu, limited to elementary school children and younger, is 2,000 yen per person. Guests in junior high school and older must order one set each.

The Executive Lounge (seventh floor, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) can be used only by guests staying in an Executive room or a suite. Guests staying in any other room type cannot use it.
