Overview

Kyukamura Omihachiman is a public lodge in the Miyagahama area of Biwako Quasi-National Park (West Building and East Building). Every room has a lake view, and family-friendly facilities are plentiful: the natural onsen "Miyagahama no Yu" - the first in Omihachiman City - a summer-only heart-shaped outdoor pool with two depth levels, a swimming beach right in front of the hotel, and an Omi beef dinner buffet.

About 43 minutes from JR Omihachiman Station by Omi Railway bus bound for Kyukamura (no service on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays), or use the shuttle bus (departing the station's north exit at 3:15 p.m., 4:45 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.). Free parking for 500 cars. Kyukamura Omihachiman is a public lodge inside Biwako Quasi-National Park, made up of the West Building and East Building (about 300 m apart, a 5-minute walk).

Baths and Onsen

Every room has a lake view over Lake Biwa. The natural onsen "Miyagahama no Yu" - the first in Omihachiman City - has an open-air bath and a sauna, and day-trip bathing is available.

The summer-only outdoor pool (1 minute on foot from the West Building; heart-shaped, with two depth levels and a shallow area about 40 cm deep) is open July 18-August 30, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from August 24-30). Rates for hotel guests are JPY 350 for adults, JPY 250 for elementary-school children, and JPY 150 for young children. It runs on a one-day ticket system, purchased at the front desk. You can also go back and forth to Miyagahama swimming beach right in front of the hotel (open July 18-August 23, 2026).

Baby and Kids Services

Family equipment on hand includes: children's pillows (Anpanman/Hello Kitty), a toilet training seat, a step stool for the sink, a bath chair, a 110 cm children's yukata, children's chairs (high/low chair or toddler chair), children's tableware, and children's amenities (toothbrush/towel), among others. Children's meals are priced the same year-round: the kids plate (from the buffet kids corner) and the kids kaiseki set (JPY 2,200, for elementary-school children).
