Overview

KKR Yamaguchi Asakura is an inn with its own hot spring source, set in quiet surroundings a little away from the center of the Yuda Onsen district and run by the Federation of National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations. Childcare items such as a bouncer, baby bath, toilet-training seat and stroller are available to borrow free of charge, and children who have not yet started elementary school can bathe in the onsen together with a parent or guardian. Meals for elementary school children can be booked at one of three rates - 80%, 70% or 50% of the adult rate - and children under school age who need neither meals nor futon bedding stay free of charge.

Rooms

Room types can be matched to your plans and the size of your group: an 8-tatami Japanese-style tatami room (for up to 3 guests); a 20-tatami Japanese special room made up of two connecting rooms (for 2 to 4 guests); a 54 sq m Japanese-Western special room (for 2 to 4 guests) with a twin bedroom, an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, a sitting area, a 75-inch large-screen television and a massage chair; an 18 sq m Western-style twin room with two 100 cm beds (for 2 guests); and a 15 sq m Western-style double room with one bed measuring 200 by 145 cm (for 1 to 2 guests). Room amenities include a bidet toilet, television, kettle, telephone, refrigerator, safe, hair dryer and humidifying air purifier. All guest rooms are non-smoking, and there is a smoking room on the 2nd floor. Wi-Fi is free in every room and throughout the building. There are some small steps on the way to the washbasin and toilet, and no rooms are fully barrier-free.

Dining

Breakfast is served in the dining area, and dinner in your room or in the dining area. Junior high school students and older pay the same as adults. For elementary school children, there are three meal rates to choose from: 80% of the adult rate (the same dinner and breakfast as the adults), 70% (dinner is a children's kaiseki course, a multi-course Japanese meal, and breakfast is the same as the adults'), and 50% (a children's set meal for dinner and a Western-style plate set for breakfast). Children under school age who need neither meals nor futon bedding stay free of charge. If anyone in your party has an allergy, contact the inn in advance and it will do its best to substitute different ingredients; same-day requests may not be possible, and severe allergies cannot be accommodated.

Baths and Onsen

The water is an alkaline simple onsen (pH 9.2), piped from the inn's own source on the grounds. Himeshima no Yu has a ceramic-tub open-air bath, and Himeshima no Yu and Ganryu no Yu serve as the communal bath and open-air bath areas, with the men's and women's baths swapped between them. Children under school age can bathe together with a parent or guardian regardless of gender. Once a child has started elementary school, they must be accompanied by a guardian of the same gender.

Family-Friendly Features
