Hotel Shidotaira

These are dedicated rooms for families with babies. They come as a 12.5-tatami-mat Japanese-style tatami room (Kasho-kan, for up to 6 guests, 4 rooms) and a 41 sq m Japanese-Western room (Keiryu Natural, for up to 3 guests, 4 rooms), with baby items such as a Bumbo seat, a toilet-training seat and a formula-preparation kettle provided in the room. Baby futons are available in the Japanese-style tatami type only, and because of the space in the room, up to 2 sets can be prepared.

Children's jinbei (a light two-piece cotton set) in sizes S, M and L are lent out at check-in. Children's slippers (22 cm), available in limited numbers, can be picked up at the amenity station on the lobby floor, and games are also available to borrow at the reception desk.

A kids-only cooking station inside the buffet hall, lined with the Wanpaku Menu that children love. Baby food is prepared for younger children, and staff will also warm baby food you bring with you. Children's tableware and cutlery and booster seats are available, and the dishes are labeled for the 8 major allergens.

The indoor heated pool is open year-round, and from July 18 to August 31 the outdoor pool also operates, with a water slide more than 90 m long linking the indoor and outdoor areas. Use is limited to staying guests, and the rate for children ages 3 through elementary school is 500 yen, or 600 yen during the outdoor pool season.

There are 2 nursing rooms: one on the 3rd floor and one to the left as you leave the buffet hall. In the buffet hall, carts for carrying meal plates are also available for anyone who wants to take their time choosing food with a small child along, though the number of carts is limited.

Asobi no Mori offers wooden toys curated by the Hanamaki Toy Museum, and Oka no Hiroba is set around benches made from large tree stumps. Children can enjoy playing shop and house, and there is also a tucked-away spot for reading picture books quietly.
