About Sapporo Station
Sapporo Station is a JR Hokkaido station in Kita 6-jo Nishi 4-chome, Kita Ward, Sapporo, and it serves as the main station of both Sapporo and Hokkaido. The Hakodate Main Line connects here with the Chitose Line and the Sasshō Line, and limited express trains depart for Asahikawa, Obihiro, and Hakodate. The Rapid Airport train links the station with New Chitose Airport and also runs toward Otaru. Across the South Exit plaza is Sapporo Station on the Namboku and Toho subway lines, and shopping complexes such as JR Tower, the station building, and Sapporo Stellar Place are gathered here. The Hokkaido Shinkansen (bullet train) extension from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to this station is under way.

From New Chitose Airport, the Rapid Airport train runs 6 times an hour and takes about 36 minutes. Otaru Station is also connected in about 35 minutes.

T38 Observation Deck

Preparations are under way to receive the Hokkaido Shinkansen. Platform 1 was closed on October 16, 2022, and Platform 11 is now in use.
