Baths and Onsen

The water is a simple onsen (a hypotonic, mildly alkaline spring), colorless, clear, tasteless and odorless, and gentle on the skin, and the ryokan says that babies and pregnant women can bathe in it too. The communal bath inside the building has a shampoo buffet with more than 15 kinds to choose from. The open-air bath has an adjoining dry sauna, kept at around 90 to 100 degrees C at all times. Access
The ryokan is at 8497 Komono, Komono-cho, Mie-gun, Mie, and a shuttle runs from Kintetsu Yunoyama Onsen Station with advance reservation required. It is about 8 minutes from Komono IC on the Shin-Meishin Expressway and about 25 minutes from Yokkaichi IC on the Higashi-Meihan Expressway, and parking for 50 cars is free. Check-in is at 3 p.m. (last check-in 7 p.m.) and checkout is at 10 a.m. The 150 yen bathing tax is paid at the front desk. In winter, the Gozaisho Ropeway about a 5-minute walk away carries you up to the Gozaisho Ski Area, which has 2 sledding-only slopes separate from the ski runs, and sleds and snow boots are available to borrow there. Rakuten Travel's area information describes it as a 3-minute walk or 1 minute by car from the ryokan, with a shuttle available. Note that the 2025 season ended on March 15, 2026, so please check the Gozaisho Ropeway website for the current season's operating status.
