Yamashiro Onsen Yoshidaya Sannokaku is an onsen ryokan whose springs were first opened 1,300 years ago and which draws one of the largest volumes of spring water in Yamashiro Onsen. Alongside the communal baths and open-air bath, there is a private-hire bath called Waraku, where the temperature can be adjusted so that families with babies and expectant mothers can bathe comfortably. Facilities and services for families with children include a summer-only outdoor pool, kids' meals, baby bottle washing and sterilizing, and baby food warming.
Rooms
There are 14 room types and 46 rooms in total. The standard rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms with a main room of 10, 12.5 or 15 tatami mats, sleeping 1 to 6 guests; you cannot specify which size you receive. There are also large rooms that sleep up to 10 guests, and a semi-suite Japanese-Western room with a 15-tatami main room, an 8-tatami adjoining room, a 4.5-tatami anteroom and a kitchenette, well suited to two- and three-generation trips and to groups. The room Para, which has its own indoor onsen bath, has two 110 cm-wide beds; when four guests stay, the staff lay out futon bedding using the reclining sofa as a mattress. Some rooms in Shofuan (the Shosei no Ma rooms) are reached by climbing stairs, so take care if anyone has difficulty walking or if you are using a stroller. Among the business Japanese-style tatami rooms there are also rooms that combine one semi-double bed with futon bedding. Guest rooms have a humidifier with an air-purifying function. All rooms are non-smoking.
Dining
Breakfast is usually a buffet made with local ingredients, though depending on circumstances it may be served as a Japanese set meal instead. Dinner is served either in your room, in the semi-private dining room Nagomi, in a dining hall or in a banquet room, depending on the plan. Children's rates vary by age and by what is served: junior high school students and older pay the adult rate; the same dishes as adults plus futon bedding is 70% of the adult rate; and a kids' meal plus futon bedding is 50% of the adult rate. Meals accommodating allergies can also be arranged.
Baths and Onsen
The ryokan draws 550 koku a day, roughly 100,000 liters, one of the largest volumes of spring water in Yamashiro Onsen, and even the showers run on spring water. There are two communal baths, Inochi no Izumi on the first floor and Sachi no Izumi on the third floor; they alternate between men and women in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy both in a single night's stay. There are steps inside the communal baths, so take care with young children. There is one private-hire bath, Waraku, available by reservation at 2,200 yen including tax for 50 minutes for staying guests. The water is a little on the warm side by default, but the temperature can be adjusted, so families with babies and expectant mothers can bathe comfortably. There are 19 guest rooms with their own onsen bath in total, and Para is a barrier-free room where you can reach the edge of the tub without any steps and can use a wheelchair indoors as well.

A free shuttle runs from JR Kaga Onsen Station by advance reservation; without a reservation, pickup may not be possible. The ryokan is 20 minutes from the Kaga IC or Katayamazu IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. Parking is free, with space for up to 60 cars.
