Overview
Toya Kanko Hotel is an onsen ryokan on the shore of Lake Toya, where most of the 131 rooms face the lake and look out over Lake Toya, Nakajima Island and Mount Yotei. Alongside Japanese-style tatami rooms there are Japanese-Western rooms that combine beds and tatami, and the baths include a panoramic communal bath, a cave bath and two private-hire baths a family can use together. The breakfast buffet has a children's rate, and meals accommodating allergies can be arranged. A free shuttle from JR Toya Station is available as well.
Rooms
Most rooms are on the lake side, looking out over Lake Toya, Nakajima Island and Mount Yotei. Floors 5 through 7 have 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms and 8-tatami Japanese-style rooms, and floors 1 through 4 have Japanese-style rooms of 8 to 10 tatami mats. There are also Japanese-Western rooms that combine beds and tatami in a compact layout, plus a special lake-side room on the top floor. The hotel has 131 rooms in total. Rooms come with a television, telephone, refrigerator (empty), kettle, en-suite bathroom, toilet with a bidet function, and heating and air conditioning, and Wi-Fi internet access is available. All guest rooms have been non-smoking since April 1, 2020, and smoking is possible only in the smoking corner in the first-floor lobby.

Dinner is served in the restaurant, and on the in-room dining plan you can choose your kamameshi (rice steamed and served in its own small pot) from 6 kinds - salmon, chicken, scallop, crab, sea bream or eel - by phone no later than the day before. Dinner cannot be prepared after 8 p.m., and guests who arrive after 8 p.m. without getting in touch may be treated as a no-show. Baths and Onsen
The spring water is a weak saline spring, a sulfate spring and a sodium-calcium chloride spring, and the listed benefits include relief from joint pain, muscle pain and nerve pain. The panoramic communal bath is on basement level 1 for men and on the first floor for women, open all night from 1 p.m. until 9:30 a.m. the next morning. There is also a cave bath with the feel of a secluded hot spring, open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the sauna open until 10 p.m. Towels and bath towels are not provided in the bathing areas, so you need to bring the towel and bath towel from your room. The two private-hire onsen baths, built of hinoki cypress, each have 2 washing stations, so a family can bathe together: for staying guests it is 4,000 yen per room for 50 minutes (1,000 yen off before 4 p.m.), and for day visitors 5,000 yen per room for 50 minutes (1,000 yen off before 4 p.m.), by advance reservation. Radium ganbanyoku (heated-stone sauna) with 6 beds is also available to both men and women, at 1,600 yen for 60 minutes for staying guests and 2,200 yen for 60 minutes for day visitors.

A free shuttle runs from JR Toya Station: pickup is only from 2 p.m. on the day of arrival, timed to train arrival times, and drop-off runs on the morning of your departure day at 8:15 a.m., 8:55 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 11 a.m. From April 2025, a separate charge of 100 yen per person applies for the shuttle from the hotel to JR Toya Station.
